  • i need to backup eternal on this matter as i am also a woolworths employee, i run the stockroom to a very sucessful store...woolworths has had a tough time recently as it still is suffering from its de-merger from kingfisher and is shakily getting its feet in a very very competitive market, i can assure you that the staff within stores will do everything they possibly can to get you what you need any means possible, ive had my manager drive some torches from another store for a customer in his own car before, something that probably cost more in petrol. as for the website, this is something run by head office and is unfortunatly something we have no input or influence at all on, because if we did i assure you we would do alot more to keep you happy. as colleagues we also have many woes and difficulties with the ordering system, we have to keep to ordering targets yet are constantly faced with out of stock or ridiculous delivery charges.

i dont get paid enough to, but i apologise deeply for any problems woolworths has ever caused you, i just hope you give us a chance in the future
  • Got booted out of woolworths yesterday because I had been walking the dog and took a slight detour to go there on the way back, picked up the dog (little one) and went to have a look at all these 'amazing offers' only to find they told me to leave because of the food, even though I was nowhere near it!

It scares me to read the above! Brains for mince?

In regards to Woolworths staff, I'm sure that a large majority of them take pride in their job and I know from personal experience as a seasoned customer that they'll bend over backwards to try to assist customers. It's sad, however, when some ignorant people take a pop at the staff upon the shop floor just because an item's not in stock. I've even had to intervene (because my blood was boiling!) watching a member of public trying to tear shreds off a young member of staff for something petty which wasn't the staff members fault. Needless to say I had my ha'penny's worth telling exactly what I thought of the customer and how dare they speak to a member of staff in that way. I've worked in retail in the past and still work with the public in a different enviornment and have noticed how shocking some people conduct themselves in a way that is deplorable. My usual line to them is "how would you feel if I spoke to you in that way that you're speaking to me?" It usually works! :D

Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.

I got a Cars lunchbox in woolies yesterday for £3.50, the same one in Debenhams was £7. I have a very happy young man - when you're 5 a cool lunchbox is very important!! ;)

woolies is a much underrated store-good quality and good prices.I have always found the CS great, and there are not many high street stores you can say that about.
  • I really slated Woolworths for the Nemo and Incredibles fiasco, but I have recieved both now and only charged £2 each!

Sorry to those that didn't get it, but I thought I'd mention that the copy of Nemo that I got was a platinum one so any of you who didn't get one might want to complain as I believe they are still selling platinum versions but for a higher price.

Although I did actually have to ask whether I was getting it or not and was told I wasn't by a posting on their website.

Maybe I should ask for my £2 back saying that they said I wasn't getting it so why did the charge me £2 and deny ever receiving it! lol

If only I was a bit more dishonest I would, but I have to respect them for actually fulfilling my order after that mistake (which it must have been) of selling them for £2. That mistake must have cost them hundreds if not thousands of pounds! As they had to be making a £3 to £5 loss on each one they were sending out unless it really did have a high mark up value.
