What do Virgin do if you move to non-cable area?

Options
I'm tempted to switch to Virgin for their bundle package but there is a chance we will be moving to a non-cable area in around 6 months or so. Does anyone know what Virgin do in this instance? Do they expect you to still pay for the full year's contract?

We moved from a cable area to a non cable area and we didn't have to pay the full year. We stayed with them though for phone and broadband but couldn't have the TV package

When I moved to a non-cable street, I just had to give 30 days notice and return the box. But I had been with them for >12 months at that point so don't know about that bit :)
Are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

You need to return any their equipment that you have or arrange for it to be collected,if you dont, then you'll be billed up to £250.If you are & dont pay it,it goes to a debt collector & may go on your credit file.

That's fair enough I wouldn't expect them to let me keep it if we weren't able to keep to the 12 month contract.

Even after the 12 month contract, unlike Sky,non of the VM equipment ever belongs to you.It remains the property of VM at all times.(see the sticker on the bottom of the box)
That's how VM can give free service calls whereas Sky charge £65.

Are we not missing the fact he would still be within his minimum term? I've never been with NTL/Virgin but I cant see them letting you walk away within your minimum term for nothing.

Have you tried phoning to ask? Might be best.

    She :)

Yes maybe should call but thought I would ask here as I don't suppose Virgin would like to advertise the fact you can move..I'm quite happy to take the service with us if there's cable available, but it seems a bit unfair if there isn't. I suppose it depends what the contract says.

You sign a 12 month contract, if you move before that minmum term i up you'll have to pay. Your choosing to move, the loss of service is down to you not VM so theres no get out clause.

It may be if you take the VM ADSL and Phone package they will not charge you a fee as you take that service but if you leave and don't take anything expect to pay a fee. Usually no of months left x monthly service charge.

Can I ask how you know this? Just wondering why I'm getting conflicting advice on this thread.

Not from me,I'm going by experience as an Ex NTL/VM Engineer, however I have'nt commented on the contracts/penalties as it might've changed since I left.
