Went to mcdonalds ordered 2 happy meals got asked what kind do you want replied Burger and what drink do you want i said cola.
So anyway i order 2 happy meals. And i had the price all fixed to pay. So the young boy serving me says that will be £4.38 i was shocked as a happy meal is suppose to be £1.99 each.
So looking at the receipt it says:
2 S Coke (HAP) 1.20
S HM S Fries 0.00
2. Happy CHB MEAL 3.18
So something has went wrong somewhere.
Any ideas what i should do its for the sake of £1 but its still £1 and i hate being done out of money.

Yeah I think that too, they used to be 1.99 each but now 2.19, so two happy meals = 4.38 you didn't get over charged!Professional Photographer with a love of bargain hunting.. Been a moneysavingexpert since 2006 :-D

Perhaps you should check the menu next time?Gone ... or have I?0 -
The price of Happy Meals can vary due to the loaction, some places are £1.99, others £2.25, £2.19.
The way the receipt is done, is part of the cost is allocated to the main product cb/hb/nuggets and the remainder of the meal for the drinks, as there accountable stock, the coke isn't as obvious, as if you had orange juice, milk, water, that would need to be accounted for on stock take.xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
It depends if its a franchise or not they tend to charge more. Even so Happy Meals haven't been £1.99 anywhere for over a year now AFAIK, went up to £2.19.0

You were charged £4.38 and thought a Happy Meal cost £1.99, so that would be a difference of 40p (£4.38 - £3.98) on two Happy Meals.
Where do you get the figure of £1 from?
If you were "shocked" when the young boy asked for £4.38, why did you hand your money over? You could have just driven away.im going to find out what price is tomorrow.
Honestly mate, I wouldn't bother. It's a dead cert that it's priced at £2.19 on the signage, and even if it's priced at £1.99, is it really worth the effort and petrol just to get 40p back?0 -
"Shocked" at being asked for just a few pence more...... the young boy serving me says that will be £4.38 i was shocked as a happy meal is suppose to be £1.99 each.
Were you really "shocked" or just shamelessly overexaggerating?
I love the way you described the "young boy" serving you... as if, being a young boy, he is bound to make a mistake. Young and inexperienced right, so must be his fault? Well not this time it doesn't look like... I think this time the "old woman" made the mistake!

Whether you've been overcharged or not I think even I would struggle to get myself wound up over 40p - and I know people say "it's the principle etc..." but seriously, forty pence?
