thanks guys, you really are helpful :)

Well, today was NSD number 7, so that's all good :)

    My food intake today is:
    breakfast - yogurt
lunch - med style beef with brown rice and peas (homemade :j)
dinner - veg pizza and chips - arrrgh! i hate being in catered accommodation.

The only options for tea were pizza and chips, samosas with sauce and rice or pasta bolognaise - i dont like the other two options! Pffft. But, I've not had a snack in between so I'm feeling okay about it. I might not be by the morning, but we'll see.

Just poppiong on to say hya SF :hello:.

Sorry I've not been here for ages...been trying to get lots of things done, which means avoiding the computer for a while!!

I am another needing to lose loads of weight (yes, you could make two people out of me, and still have some left over!). I was quite ill last year with pancreatitis (had a gall-stone removed, and later my gall-bladder). The only good thing that happenend was that I lost 3 stone in weight reasonably quickly. Unfortunately just over a stone of that has crept back on since Christmas, but I am now at last starting to shift it again.

I'm not too bad with meals really, it's everything in-between that's the problem! :o I am trying not to snack too much, and if I do, then it is with something healthy and filling. I have to have breakfast, and find porridge is the best thing for me...low fat and sugar, and very filling!!
I seem to go through a lot of chewing gum to keep me away from food atm though!

Right, off to bed now, shattered, not slept well the past couple of nights...asthma has been playing up. Hope I can get a good night's sleep tonight!

    Night, night all

:hello: keiss - nice of you to pop in! regarding porridge for breakfast - i do like porridge but find it takes me too long to eat :o and goes all cold and congealed! Then it's not so nice :p

I have had some cereal this morning - 2 x wheetabix with some fresh raspberries on top along with skimmed milk and it was actually very nice. Can't afford raspberries all the time but I think adding some fruit did make it much easier to eat. So, tiny steps and all that!

It's NSD number 8 for me today - it's going well as I've got nothing to spend! :rotfl: I think tomorrow will hopefully be one as well - we've got a one day placement in a further education college but they're providing transport there and back and I'm going to take a packed lunch with me so no temptations of canteen food! :)

    Hi sf
Well done on breakfast this morning, fruit always makes cereal taste much more palatable. I do corn flakes (own brand, much tastier and less sugar) with a banana and skimmed milk. You could maybe do half banana, half soft fruit to spin the soft fruit out a bit more?

Don't forget you need to have calcium (it's something women often forget and it's really important). Skimmed milk (if you can stand it, that is) has more calcium than other milk, as do low fat yogurts, along with lots of veg.

Good luck with your placement tomorrow, you'll get there, just takes a bit of times sometimes (small steps...)

Could you get some frozen raspberries/mixed berries? I sling some in porridge sometimes (porridge takes me forever to eat too! )

I haven't looked into this? How much are they, do you know? It could be a good idea! And I'm glad I'm not the only one that can take aaaaages over a bowl of porridge! :)

I think T£sco has 3 containers for £5 (so £5 for up to 1.5kg depending on what you choose) or there is a bag of mixed berries for ~£1.29 for 500g. Sainsbugs have them for a similar price too. Farmf00ds too sometimes for individual bags. Frozen ones aren't so firm as fresh but still taste fab! I just get a portion out to defrost overnight in my fridge or zap them a wee bit in the microwave in a ramekin (or just sling them in frozen to my hot porridge to defrost if they are small). I usually have some lurking in my freezer for emergency breakfasts or puddings!

My local farmers market also sells berries at this time of year really cheaply and one of the stalls does cheapish frozen punnets till ~ Xmas time! :rotfl:

I agree the frozen ones work out really cheap.
