I recently sold a megadrive with accessories and lots of games on ebay, and only got £10 for it, so you probably won't get much :(

Hi all been away for a while.
Quick question, I sold an item on 23 August, sent same day 1st class, allowing for slow post am assuming buyer got it on 25th (although they probably got it on 24th). On 29th they emailed me to say it wasn't what they wanted and could they have a refund. I agreed and gave them my address in email to post it back to me. Has now been 10 or 11 days since they received it and still no sign of it. How long is reasonable for them to get a refund?

Hi becky - there is the possibility that they've changed their mind about returning the item and didn't think to tell you or maybe it's delayed in the post. I'd email them to ask if it was posted back to you.

I have my son's megadrive kit stored away for the great day when these become very collectable, will it be in my lifetime

Have emailed her this morning and she just got back to say she'll put it in the post tomorrow! 13 days after having it and deciding it wasn't what she want:mad:

I may be wrong about this and can't get into the Amazon site to check but I have a feeling that there is a time limit on refunds and I THINK they have to return the item within 7 days for a refund. Don't want to get your hopes up as it may be a longer period than this but just wanted you to check it before refunding as that would be VERY annoying.

    Hope you get it sorted

  • Hello,
Need a little bit of help. Someone bought one of my items at 2:30 this afternoon. I've had confirmation from Amazon, yet the item is still showing as for sale. The question is, has the item sold or not? The item that sold yesterday stopped showing as being for sale straight away.

    Cheers.

It is 7 days, but here's the problem, the item was a video (SOFT FRUIT), is only one edition listed on Amazon the listing gives the correct director, actors, year etc, however the photo is of berries and the lady assumed it was a video on growing berries by Harry Baker when its actually an Australian comedy film. So will Amazon side with the buyer as they have made an error with the cover? I had no problem with giving the refund when asked, but the fact it was received on 24th probably and today is 4th and it still hasn't been returned is annoying. Can I refuse to refund now?

In my humble opinion, it's not worth not giving a refund (sorry for the double negative) - the damage they can do to your good feedback could cost you more in the long run.

I would just give the refund on receipt of the item (but you must wait until you get it back otherwise they have no incentive to return it to you), that way you can move on and stay happy.

Check in your 'open listings' that the quantity has gone to '0'. If it has then it has sold and cannot sell again - even if it is still showing on the item page.

You should get the 'The sale of your item has ended' email eventually.
