AT - yeah thats the one!! OMG I am excited now!! The only difference is in the colour. The one I saw today was greenish coulour.
Will let you know tomorrow how I get on!0 -
I know some sellers and posters have talked about buying large amounts of books via ebay. I was wondering what sort of search you do to find those type of lisitngs? Am not thinking of buying any at the mo. but am interested in having a look to see whats on offer etc. Not very ebay literate so couldn't work out how to search for those.
While I'm here might as well have a whinge as have only sold a CD single in the last week making a grand profit of 54p after postage
Any advice would be appreciated

Crikey, I'm nervous for you! have another look at it before the sale to make sure you didn't miss anything - chips, cracks & crazing
edit - there is a website here so you can date the piece
edit again - this is a website selling what looks to be Belleek re-issues of their older patterns so you'll need to check that it isn't brand new by comparing the backstamp with the ones on the website above, might be worth printing it out and having a sneaky look at it in the Ladies after you've looked at the teapot once more
sorry to everyone for going off topic but Christina will be looking to buy some books as well as a teapot
FFN, the photo that I showed was rubbish quality and although it's not something I'd collect if you see one 'in person' you can't help but admire it as it's in the finest porcelain with lovely detailing and pointed bits that are so easily broken so you look at it more in amazement than anything else.0 -

I'm probably a bit of a heathen when it comes to such 'finery', for example I like my tea in a mug, so I will take your more educated word for it
I had a look at the belleek website - I don't know how people can keep so much info in their heads - I often see people in charity shops 'up-ending' the china, I don't know if they really know what they're looking at - but I wouldn't have a clue.
Still, if I see something with 'Belleek' underneath it in the future I'll be snapping it up

Hi Teapot,
The easy way is go to your ebay
click on buy
click on Wholesale and Job lots
click on Books
Narrow the area down to where you are willing to travel.
Look for lots of at least 500.
Only bid at the last minute.
Don't bid a lot as these lots come up often and you will get a cheap one.
You only need to find a couple of gems in a lot to make all your money back.
Good luck.

Hi AT - thank for the info re the teapot. I did have another look at it before the auction started. The shell on the top of the lid was broken. However I did like it and wanted to buy it. However, there were a lot of traders there (I think) I bid up till £50 and then chickened out. The final figure was £80.
I really wish now though that I had got it! I really liked the design (not to drink out of just to admire!) Think I will look out for any more though.
To keep this on topic - I bought two boxes of books for £9, and 2 boxes of videos for £2. HOpe they are worth it! This was my first go at an auction but I think I might be addicted! I took DH too and he wants to go back next week!0 -
Hi Christina, you put up a good fight to get to £50 - if you've got your DH on side too that will make it easier when the time comes that you buy something really nutty, we have a stuffed badger in the attic that was one of those purchases (not mine, his!!!!)0

Off on hols next week and had planned to set holiday setting about 2 days before we go. all well and good but what if I send something off before I go and it gets lost or buyer request refund whilst I'm away? Will amazon holiday setting notify them that we're away or should i send email before I dispatch item explaining?
Then I'm worried that I'm telling strangers that my house will be empty for two weeks.
Am I stessing about nothing? Only I've just had my first refund, (down to me, misslisted item) no problems, but thinking if that happened while away and buyer had no response from me could be very p***ed off.
Any advice from you experineced lot much appreciated
Thanks, CLare
PS Have been doing a lot of multi list reporting to sentinel, now send them chatty emails (In my (vivid!!) imagination he's a sort of Knight in shinning armour!) One item had 21 identical listings from same seller out of 23 listed. checked next day and they'd all gone!0
