I've just had the dreaded 'sorry but my son bid and didn't read the description and thought this was new so can I return it for a full refund please?'

Oh well, I suppose it had to happen sooner or later and luckily it only cost 88p to post.

    HI
Not sure if this is the right place, as I have been selling on amazon I have also been buying from amazon marketplace ( i never did before). There was a book I was really eager to get and bought at £15.99 plus postage last thursday from an amazon market place seller- I have still not recieved it ! I have emailed the seller but am not sure what to do and what is a reasonable amount of time to wait. I also sold a book on that date and despatched it on saturday. Should I expect a quick delivery service as I try to abide by the desptach within 2 days that amazon tell me , I thought this is what I was supposed to do ? so whats a reasonable time to give a marketplace seller ?

when was the money transferred out to your bank account??? mine have taken up to 6 days before. So to 'speed' this up, I generally transfer the money as soon as I can out of my Amazon account.

I'm fed up, I've just had a buyer ask me where their book is, yet it was withdrawn from sale and I have a cancellation note *and * I never got a sold notification. I've checked my sales history and it is in there.

Blast this, why have Amazon sold a book after I have already sold it elsewhere and withdrawn it from sale, and why did I not get a Sold email.

I'm really fed up tonight actually, what with this and the return as 'wrong one bought' plus my problem seller on another thread.

If it is any consilation I tend to find I get a spate of bad luck sales then its all over and good sales come in again. You know it says bad luck comes in three so you have had yours. Also sometimes it never turns out as bad as you think , I had someone return an item and when I relisted it I got a lot more- this might happen with your " my son bid in error (( grrr saying that I HATE this excuse )).
Grit your teeth and then think of that lovely £100 you have coming in !! :o
  • soo, I wonder if the book wasn't removed quickly? if there was a few minutes delay from you clicking 'cancel' and it being removed from view that would just be enough for your buyer to click the 'buy' button I suppose.

Get back on your horse....remember you were having a great Amazon time the other day....:D

Soo, not sure if your's was similar to one of my previous sales where I had an e-mail and then a cancelled sale, I did'nt receive a cancellation e-mail just lists payment as cancelled in Transaction History where other sales are listed as completed and there is no address for the buyer.

The buyer sent me two e-mails for the book and both times I pointed out that they had'nt paid for the book although listing was removed, really confusing. I assume they could'nt leave any feedback either as they had'nt paid for the books?

Also just an update for the two lost parcels, I refunded both buyers immediately and requested contact details have'nt received any e-mails since!, though received a refund for one of the books from Royal Mail within one day of sending a claim(Yipee!!)
  • I had a right pickle happen to me a couple of days ago, received an email form a "potential" buyer with the title - return policy, stating they would like a refund as didnt want the boxset they had purchased . Thought it was a bit odd as hadnt recieved a sdn email and the item was still showing as available. Checked my emails that night and i had got a sdn for the same item, some 7 hours + after the buyer had requested a refund ???!!!

finally sorted it out via direct emails

I sold a book this week called "How to pass Psychometric Tests" (at a loss I might add, due to the new postage system), but I took it on the chin and emailed the buyer to say it was on its way.

I got an email by return saying "Hi, did this book help you get into the Civil Service?"

I hate it when they write and ask if you found the book helpful - when you have just bought it, listed it and then filed it away until sold!!
