Well done Soo on your £100 thats great - how much stock do you have to sell that amount?

    Ta Teapot

I just managed to touch 500 listtings, but have dipped to about 496 at the moment due to sales in the past couple of days. I tend to sell mid priced books rather than cheap ones so am still a basic seller, it isn't worth me taking out the pro merchant thingy.

Am so pleased though especially as several of my books went as large letters at the 'new' post office.

Hi Mom23, shame you feel put off - did you do your listing by putting in the ISBN of the book? This will take you through to Amazon's lisitng and will be the right edition for the ISBN. Alternatively its fairly straightforward if you get to the listing by author or title to check Amazon's product information for any Edition number and to match this with the book. Mostly its academic or technical books that have numerous editions.

Good luck if you do decide to list and wrestle any books away from your OH - would he not be tempted by the cash? Warning though selling is addictive :D Teapot

£100 is pretty good then for mid-price books and presumably that's for 2 weeks? I have about 130 and few 1p books - mostly Mills & Boons I got for 10p at the library but have never sold any of them. Have sold quite a few of my old Uni books on psychology, counselling & social psychology etc which I'm well pleased about. Its finding time to build up stock that I find difficult, no car boot sales in my area and I've been to all the charity shops locally..... Did look on ebay at lots but didn't follow any up it seems quite a lottery.

Well done on your sales tho'

Maybe as MishkaN says it was their mistake - ISBN should take you to the approriate edition. Perhaps your OH could buy some of my bloomin books :rotfl: :rotfl:

    HI folks

Just sold my first book on Amazon for 17.99. It's quite a big heavy paperback book. Anyone any good ideas for cheap sturdy packaging??

I've had some strange anomolies with ISBN numbers as well, completely different editions or in two cases a completely different book

One I listed yesterday was a hardback but the ISBN showed it as a softcover.

I bought some more books yesterday and listed them to get back over the 500 listed again. I have one biography of a war hero where the other two copies are both over £100, but they are listed by the US megalisters so have started mine quite a bit lower to see what happens.

Free bubble wrap from any supermarket fruit and veg department and cheap but strong gift wrapping paper reversed to show white rather than pattern.

In a similar vein... I've just sold a large text book which is around 1.95 kg. I've been trying to get a price for Parcelfarce, but their site shows prices of £15+... and I take it that's only if you have the item collected? (First class is only likely to be £7-8)

Could anyone kindly point me in the right direction of a price chart for PO despatches?
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j
