Did you know plane & helicopter crashes are quite a popular way of assassination?

No, I had no idea whatsoever. Please enlighten me from my government-induced unquestioning stupor.

Not forgetting the car crash into a concrete pillar in the Parisian tunnel!

See that I put down to an alcoholic who built up his tolerance levels & thought he was Steve Mcqueen. Well that & some dodgy press guys & another drunk in a Fiat who thought is was a great idea to swerve out in front of the maniac Merc driver flashing him from behind....

I loved the book liberal fascism. It had perfectly ridiculously angry moments in it, but it also had so many truths I was seeking words for, that it was a relief.

It is well known & reported.

    Russians like it a lot.

I think Stephen Curtis was one of the "confirmed" last cases in the UK.

There's a bit of a battle going on at the Daily Telegraph blogs today after their reporter said that the president was flying an ancient plane from a less developed country (or words to that effect). Then someone else pointed out that Air Force One was in fact built in 1985...

FWIW DH works for an airline and thought it looked like pilot error, possibly with President saying that they had to land and not be diverted. Its practice here to attempt a couple of landings then divert, no more, but only time will tell. On his list though were pilot error, plane failure and weather, not assassination.

I was sitting on a plane in Cairo airport a couple of years ago in 1970s plane which had total electrical & engine failure 3 times before it took off...

Never been so scared in my life but it would of been a nice view on the way down...
