Polish president's plane crashes in Russia + head of the Central Bank

Condolences to all, but not really relevant to the UK economy and political scene.0 -
Is this a first non-conspiracy post? or do you think the Illuminati was behind it?
Quite probably. The Polish president advocated a traditional conservative outlook, not the neo-con approach that the three main UK parties are all in favour of and that seems to prevail in the Western world. Yes, it could well have been a 'hit job'.0 -
What set up? I don't get your point.
According to the Wiki article (not historical 'truth' of course) the Soviets denied this until 1990.
My point was you were fishing for someone to come back with oh it was that nasty Stalin man so you could have your go at Communism
BTW it stated what Katyn was in the article. 'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
Come on Generali, you're normally so level headed.
That analogy is like saying every Muslim has 9/11 as a stain on their moral being.
A little OTT but only a little.
9/11 wasn't central to Islam being set up. Stalin's actions in the 1940s were a big part of the consolidation of Communism.0 -
>That analogy is like saying every Muslim has 9/11 as a stain on their moral being.<
Yep, I remember the outpouring of condemnation from all the 'moderate' muslims, and after 7/7 the ample intellignce given to the Police by the Islamic community. Oh, wait...

Communism works very well in Cuba. It works where there's no greed, where there's fairness.0

Its hard to take you seriously when you hold the view that Muslim's are going to take over Britain. Quite simply, that is utterly inconceivable.0 -
Stalin was an evil !!!!wit, but you don't need to be communist to be a mass murderer. It seems democratic countries such as britain http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bombing_of_Dresden_in_World_War_II , http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Chastise#Bomb_damage_assessment , and America http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atomic_bombings_of_Hiroshima_and_Nagasaki , were also willing to kill tens of thousands of innocent civilians during the war.
Given that we've only just finished up in Iraq where we killed an estimated 600,000 innocent civilians in what is believed to be an illegal war, maybe we should look to our own crimes?“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”
