Can strongly recommend that you contact Kyle Insurance, Briad River Business Park, 101 Railway Street, Ballymena, Tel: 028 25652424 and ask for Anne Greynor

Both helpful and were able to get me a very attractive insurance policy.

    Hope this helps.

I once used the AA's website and it quoted me £10,200 for a Fiesta with full no claims...

Ive changed loads of different insurance companys i ring round a load when mine is due.
I think its hard to say who is really good it all depends on car area you live and age.
I've had Same car Same area Same age bracket and what I've had cheapest in one company is not always the cheapest next year .

There's never any harm in trying the AA, particularly if you're an AA member.
The AA they must be the in the top five dearest insurance companies, I've never had anywhere near a good one
  • Give Northern Banks Search online service a go.

I was quoted the best price in here which was £100 cheaper through them using Zurich insurance!

No Broker or company can be the cheapest for everyone! Companies who are cheaper for a husband & wife in their 40's may not be a good deal for the 1st time insurer and likewise the cheapest company for the 1st timer will not be the cheapest for the fogies! I use a broker (G&H Bell in Hillsborough 028 9268 3104) who have been able able to match or beat anything else around. One of the "in your face" advertisers were £100 dearer this year! OK we are in our 40's and drive a 1.4 Peugeot 306 but here you go!!

SHOP AROUND NOT ALL THE BROKERS USE THE SAME INSURERS

I phoned around for mine this year and the quotes varied WIDELY- I'm 23 with 4 years no claims, the most expensive was £1500 and the cheapest was £498 through Hughes and Co which was a good £200 less than the next best quote. I think it helped that the insurance is VIA Norwich Union because my house is insured through them already so it might be a good idea for anyone with insurance for things other than their car to check with the suppliers of those policies.

I also found that Admiral shot up this year for me, from around £600 to £1000

I previously used Admiral, until I found Elephant and have been using them for three yearsnow. I always shop around at renewal time and always find them the cheapest. (so far anyway). The only drawback being that unless they have changed their policy, you cannot pay your insurance in instalments it has to be paid in one lump payment, which may cause problems for some people. ::)

Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.

Thanks to dmxdave for his tip - the broker in Hillsborough just saved me a few quid on my renewal. Not a massive amount, but every little helps (to coin a phrase). Cheers Dave!
