Hi, yes I use both wash balls and also dryer balls. With the wash balls- we had a few problems with eco balls splitting and spilling the beads inside the machine, after some research we switched to Aquaballs (21st century health website). These work just as well on the washing, almost never have to use a stain remover and never split. My partners daughter has even taken some to Uni and is happy with them there. The wash balls dont leave the clothes hard like powders do, but we do think the dryer balls do help. They seem to cancel out static too, which I always hated. I've been using these balls for nearly two years now and alays recommend them. We started to use them because my daughter was allergic to most wash powders, since using the wash balls her skin is clear. OMG I sound like an advert. I'll get me coat.......

          1. That's really useful, thanks.
Incidentally, if anyone is thinking about buying Eco-balls, they are around £34.99, but I have found them on sale at https://www.natureswisdom.co.uk at £20.29 including the postage!

          2. I started using Ecoballs approx 4 weeks ago as well as Magno ball for hard water. I have been very happy with the results BUT my very expensive, 6 year old ('will last for 20 years!') Miele washing machine has just expired in a cloud of smoke :cry::cry: . There was a bang on the spin cycle and, when I opened the door a load of smoke came out. The Ecoballs appear unharmed and unfazed by the whole experience. Any connection??

            Happy New Year all.

I've been looking on various websites and have found washing machine balls that mean you don't need to use washing powder. http://www.greenshop.co.uk/acatalog/index.html?http%3A//www.greenshop.co.uk/acatalog/Smart_metering_and_electricity_saving.html&CatalogBody

Has anyone tried them and if so, do they work? I like the idea of them because from what I've read, they reduce the amount of water and electric needed to do a load of washing, don't need washing powder and are cheaper to use, at around 3p per wash.

Just wanted to know if anyone else had tried them before I order them? Thanks

          4. HI,

i've being using ecoballs for a few months now and they seem to be ok. As i'm a bloke i tend not to notice how clean things are (ask my girlfriend). She said that my clothes smelt from using them but it was because i did not dry them quick enough.

Since i have started drying things a bit quicker i think i have overcome this problem. They do seem to work, lord knows how. Your clothes don't smell of anything which i prefer than chemical summer birdsnest or whatever Persil call it.

I got mine for £27 from someone on Kelkoo.
            Happy balling

            Hi Biffa

I've been using these laundry balls for quite a long time now and have always had good results from them. Originally, I got one because I have excema and they're detergent free, so easier on my skin. Last one I bought was about 8 months ago and it's still going! I alternate between laundry ball, soda crystals and Grannie's soap flakes. Like you, I don't want my clothes smelling of cheap perfume either! And excema has all but gone! Got mine from Kleeneze for £5.99.:D

THE ORIGINAL Eco-Ball Wash Kit (extra refills /stain remover) £34.99
            NEB1

****BEWARE OF CHEAP ECO-BALL COPIES- THEY ARE NOT ORIGINALS AND YOU WILL NOT BE PROTECTED**** Eco-balls care for your clothes, your washing machine and your environment. Eco-balls stand for everything we believe in; they're natural, environmentally friendly, efficient and cost-effective, and deliver a clean, fresh, sensitive alternative to conventional washing powders that pollute our water supply, reduce the lifespan of our washing machine and break down the very clothing they're supposed to care for. Environmentally friendy eco-ball is a scientific breakthrough in cleaning technology. Just place the three eco-balls in your washing machine instead of detergent. Together they produce ionized oxygen that activates the water molecules naturally and allows them to penetrate deep into clothing fibres to lift dirt away. They are reuseable for over 1000 washes and costs on average 3p per wash. There are no harsh chemicals so less pollution. Rinse cycle can be shortened saving water and electricity. They will not fade bright colours or damage clothing fibres. Hypoallergenic so suitable for sensitive skins/eczema (including babies and children). Eco-ball softens clothes even in hard water. As your clothes will be softer no fabric conditioner is necessary. Also anti-bacterial and kills Escherichia Coli and Staphylococcus Aureus. Comes with a 30 day money back guarantee! Includes free refill pellets and a stain remover. Imagine not having the hassles and expense of carting bulky powders and liquids home from the supermarket ever again!
