Maybe you could try tart burners they are available in different designs so you can go for something that suits your room decor/taste. I recommend the tarts I have just started using them instead of the jars, they smell stronger (based on the same scent from a jar) and you can change the smells as often as you like. Once the initial outlay of the burner is made the tarts are around £1, I've been breaking mine and only using half at a time so I can sample a few new smells, the tart burns for around 8hrs before losing its scent. I'm pleased I tried them as I much prefer them to the jars.0 -
I love the tarts too. i think they are better then any candles i have had. i also use half at a time you can smell them all over the house.0

I bought them last weekend, cherry tart and sweetpea tart, they were both £1 each and yes they are the REAL yankee candlesEnvy is the most stupid of vices, for there is no single advantage to be gained from it.:A0

once hardened, dig the "gloop" out (place jar in freezer for 10 minutes, it will pop out)
use it like you would a tart and melt in a burner
loads more hours left in that
the tealights are probably the least smelling of the range
as its the size of the wax pool that depicts aroma strength
i do buy the large jars, but choice is a tart & burner0 -
just been and took a photo of the display of the different ones. The big jars were £13 and smaller ones were 8 or 9. They were in the gardening section for some reason0

I scoop out the wax that is left at the bottom of the jar and use it in my tart burner.
I buy my yankee candles from yankee doodle they have up to 50% off the fragrances of the month

Also have look in the special offers section I have had some great buys from this.
i stick the jars in the oven and melt whats left when its melted wack it in ice cube trays and make my own tarts lol :j0 -
There is another link on here for "smelly candle things".. ...i have ordered some of the sample tarts. i got around 12 for £1.50 i think. they are great and last for quite a while. They are NOT Yankee but they are just as good i find.

I didn't realise you could get tarts, i've never seen them before. How do they work, do you just put them in the top of a burner with a tealight underneath? Do you need to buy a special burner for them or could i just use my oil burner?0 -

Nope, just a tealight and a oil burner and bobs your uncle!0 -
You can use an oil burner, the tart burners have a bigger bowl but if you only use half a tart at a time then it makes no difference as wax when melted won't be too much for an oil burner (unless your oil burner has a big bowl area) the tart is a mix of wax and scent, once the scent has fully evaporated the wax will be left and need to be removed from the tray as mentioned pop in freezer and it pops out easily, there's no set time you will know when it no longer scents the room I got around 8-9 hrs out of half a baby powder then it stopped being noticable, whereas the mandarin & cranberry has lasted a lot longer but is really strong anyway.
