I have alot of video files on my camcorder. I am trying to burn the files to dvd. However, am not able to view them on the dvd player. Would i need to convert them first?
They are MPEG2 media files.

Hi
Some DVD players can play individual files.
Most DVD players require that the files are 'authored' into the correct DVD format in order to play them.
Read about DVD authoring here:-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD_authoring
There are programs that will do this.
Such as:-
DVDFlick
DVDStyler
ConvertXtoDVDNever interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0 -

Hi, this might not be helpful. But depending on what OS you've used have you tried Windows DVD maker. It might be more intuitive. Personally I've found it next to useless in Vista, as it burns disks at full speed meaning they often don't work. But also takes far longer than other programs to do so???
But if windows media player is able to play it then you shouldn't have a problem getting windows DVD maker to transfer it to a playable DVD.
I used a program like the above suggestions a few days ago which worked with an .avi file but I hadd to move the converted files out of a temp folder so I could burn with my chosen program rather than the conversion program. Which was less than ideal.0 -
