I've been doing it for a month now and not had any bad experiences. If I eat more fat than I should (although I never go mad), then things are, ahem, mushier, so baby wipes are useful things to carry, but that's all. And it definitely works. Partly because of the deterrent effect, and partly because you lose more weight which encourages you to keep going. I would definitely recommend it.

But it's a good gun to your head having the threat of a leaky bum should you have a sneaky McDonalds though isn't it? ;)

I had a PMSL accident whilst reading this. Well almost.

I have found this thread very interesting as I am thinking of doing this, too.

  • You definitely have to be really strict when on these - if you have a special occassion you still have to eat very low fat even if you have a day off the tablets as they stay in your system. Cue bright orange fatty liquid poo that stinks

    Personally I think they're evil!

just be aware of what you are eating really, i bought a ready made cheese salad for lunch and there was very little cheese/mayo but the reaction i got was severe . i agree with others that its the "oily" substance thats the problem and you cant get it off your clothes .

oh deep joy. i assume that if i over do eating high fat content that it is the toilet thing that becomes a problem.has anyone manged to loose weight on these?

They didn't do anything for me, but then again I don't eat a high fat diet as such. It is recommended that if you know you are going to eat a high fat meal then do not take a capsule to stop the unwanted side effects, which are horrendous. I used to nickname it oilyshit = orlistat. Says it all! And its not green, but orange!

Wow! Well done you. That is just an incredible amount to lose. Hope you manage to keep it off and have stuck to low fat foods. :T

I was on these last year and stopped taking them because of the side effects. I had one accident at work when I should have just pumped and it was horriffic! As mentioned earlier it's like bolognaise sauce and it stinks!!

It was not worth the risk for me any longer, I did the whole backward panty liners, spare knicks and trousers in the car, and this was whilst mainly following the very little fat rule. I did lose weight on it but as mentioned perhaps it was due to the fact that I was terrified of crapping myself.

If you watch your fat intake you will be ok. My best advice would be if you feel like you need the loo, GO, not in a minute, not at the next commercial break, go NOW ! You will thank me for it ;)

Hi I have been given this by my doctor today.I have read the side effects could be big poohs:eek:.just wondered if anyone had tried.wondered what the results could be:cool:.thank you xx

MIL has lost 3 stone in the last 9 months but was making out she had done it all herself.

After staying here I noticed my toilet was stained orange each time I went in the bathroom after her which I thought was strange. On the weekend we had chippy dinner and she was bad all night - the next morning she said 'I'm not supposed to eat fat on my tablets'
It was then I clicked she was taking this medication as a friend of mine took it and had the Orange Explosive Poos whenever she ate fat of any sort.

    Gross, Gross, Gross

Just remember to use the toilet brush ;) (although saying that my toilet brush was also slightly orange - good job its black and not white!)

Where does the time go?
