Never heard of anyone leaking oil as they sleep - I'd be seeing my doctor if that was the case

I got on well with the tablets, I'm not sure they caused much weight loss, it's more of an incentive to behave yourself and make sensible choices and be aware of how much fat is in certain foods. Which is always good.

My mum is on these currently, and she is regretting eating that chinese, badly.

But if you have to cut the fat out of your diet ( to avoid the side effects) then arent you going to loose weight anyway, even without the tabs?

But it's a good gun to your head having the threat of a leaky bum should you have a sneaky McDonalds though isn't it? ;)
  • That's my view on it too, if you just follow low-fat anyway you don't need to torture yourself with the potential nasty side-effects of taking the pills - they kind of negate themselves?? I've heard real horror stories of people having to throw clothes away cos they were permanently stained and having 'accidents' at work, I'm sure I couldn't do it, but a bit OCD about public toilets and that anyway. I'm doing Cambridge instead - lost 8st in 9 months. I think doctors are irresponsible dishing them out, bet they wouldn't take them.

But you dont cut out all the fat even if you are on a low fat diet. So its a win win situation, you are hopefully losing weight anyway as low fat diet and then losing extra on the fat you are eating and by being on the tablets it should give you the incentive to keep going being sensible. Ie they say you should be losing 2lb on low fat diet a eek and then the tablet enables you to lose another 1lb a week hence 3lb. So over the weeks it all adds up and keeps you going as you really see the weight drop off and faster than it would normally on normal just low fat diet, if you exercise as well even just walking you are toning as well and getting a healthy attitude.

Of course you dont lose weight if you stuff a pizza or chinese and think oh well it doesnt matter that weight will come off as I have just swalloewd a tablet...duh.... no brainer you eat that rubbish you put on weight.

I have read that you need pads when you sleep as the 'stuff' seeps out of you when you're asleep.

I personally would stay well away, but that's just my opinion.

    You got there before me.

OP my friend has been on these, and she mentioned oil, and seepage, and she didn't have a fatty diet at all, she had one of the most healthy diets, but she has PCOS (SP)

How about just getting some cheap panty liners to use whilst you are using these tablets, more of a reassurance too.

Not necessarily; a low fat diet can still be high in calories. Either way, you'll lose more when taking these.

Panty liners aren't protecting the right place!

I was keeping my fat intake to less than 30% of calories from fat, but I still had accidents, I decided I'd been tangoed once too many times and it was only a matter of time before I had a mishap at work.:o

Weightwatchers are doing a reduced price/ free 3 month trial again, saw it in the newsletter this week from MSE, I did that last year and lost 1 1/2 stones.
