little L - i think that TM might be a little out of my price range! however, i popped to the library yesterday and picked up a few books on meditation and im going to give it a go.
Catseyez - i also listen to upbeat music to pick me up! i love to play music loud and dance around with the kids, its just such a good way of bringing a bit of happiness on a miserable day!
Jessicamb - putting all your fav songs on cd is a great idea!!! i might do that!November NSD's - 70 -

What motivational tapes do you listen to?
At the moment I don't feel motivated at all. Can't see beyond the end of my nose. Need help. Need to meditate, do yoga, walk more and eat less. (sigh) Not a good start to Sun.

rkh001 - sorry to hear you arent feeling motivated today:(
i listen to different tapes, one of my favorites is David Bach Automatic Millionaire....he is very upbeat and you cant fail to laugh when listening to him as he is very enthusiastic.
i am very into spiritual ways of thinking right now. do you usually meditate? if not, grab a book from the library and give it a go with me....and the best thing is its free!
dont try and do everything all at once....maybe draw up a list this morning of small things you would like to achieve...a couple for today, a few for this week.....make them fairly simple and achieveable and once you have done them, give yourself a huge pat on the back, it will do wonders for your self esteem!!:):)
try going for a little walk on your own today and think about all the things you have in your life to be grateful for, this is a really good exercise for putting things into perspective.
be easier on yourself.....try posting on kevicho's "say something nice about yourself" thread!!
PM me if you'd prefer
hope this helps

Hi there! Nice thread...
I'm also quite into meditation and really want to try and develop some techniques. As well as making me calm and relaxed it seems to help with focus and concentration - I often have to work at home where I can get easily distracted.
I found a book I bought a while ago "Meditation for Dummies", (from that series) and have been reading it properly this time! It's so interesting and has really inspired me to have a go again.
It gives so much info - different methods, postures, techniques, things to visualise, steps to getting a teacher, how to cultivate spirituality, history and origins of different types of meditation, etc.
I've been regularly trying a few of the techniques - calming down the mind is one I particularly like! It also feels amazing just to sit and be still and do nothing for a short while, to really focus on what's inside..
Sorry I'll stop rambling on!!!! Basically meditation, love it!
Whoops, ramble continues (:rotfl: )! Am also massively into walking and have done several long-distance walks as well as regular days out. I also do a bit of yoga, jogging, sometimes swimming and I find that I feel so much better when I'm feeling fit and healthy. I know this sounds pretty obvious but it really affects my mental state.
Particularly the walking, I love being outside, discovering new areas and sites. I usually go with friends but sometimes alone (which is great for walking meditation!) And that feeling when you've walked the whole day, have a shower and sit down with cup of tea/nice food/glass of wine......perfect! Ramble over!:beer:0 -
