They don't care if you're signed up to TPS, but a sternly worded "Where did you get my number?" was enough to make the caller hang up.0

Would like to say a very big thank you to everyone on here. When I first started getting these calls they really scared me and my daughters. 'Albert Smith' intimidated me, verbally abused me by telling me what he wanted to do to me, but now having read all this I am a stronger person who WILL NOT be made to feel horrible. Albert still rings me most days and although I do not answer all the time, when I do I tell him how insecure he is until he puts the phone down. Justice.0

I think I got called by these people today. They said they were from 'PPI Claims Ltd', and wanted to give me back some money from a loan I'd had in the past. I'd figured out they were a scam by that point, but asked which loan to see how much info they had on me - turns out zippo; they cited Lloyds from 2005 and I've never banked with Lloyds.
I said I thought they were running a scam and would therefore hang up on them, and they called me a f*cking p*ki. So i logged a call with the police.
It was actually quite funny - I'm about as white as you can get, while the caller had a very strong Asian accent - but anyone who's being nasty and racist like that could easily upset someone.Mortgage when started: £330,995

Just had a company called Road Traffic Management call be about making a claim. When I challenged the guy on the phone he panicked and said goodbye. Want them to stop calling me. The number which flashed up on my landline was 0203 5193557.0

I received an unsolicited phone call at 16:03 today from an Asian-sounding guy calling himself 'David', on behalf of the UK Claims Centre.
I simply told them not to call my number again. Subsequently dialling 1471 revealed only an anonymous call; also, I'm registered with the TPS, which seems to count for nothing now.
I've since signed this petition:
Make the Telephone Preference Service Effective

"The existing Telephone Preference Service is ineffective because it is increasingly ignored by callers who withhold the information required for the receiver to report an illegal call. Many people now suffer several such calls a week, sometimes several in a day causing stress and frustration to the public.
The government should require telephone service companies to provide an effective Telephone Preference Service, if necessary by new legislation."0 -

I got quite upset today, after a cold call asking for Mr xxx, there is no Mr xxx at our house any more, as my dad died a few years ago. When I said this to the lady she said, Mr xxx had had an accident in the last year, which of course he couldn't possibly have had. I asked who they were and she said RTA, but I didn't get any further information. To be honest, I would have asked more questions but I was too upset. Thanks for the previous post, I have signed the petition, and complained to the TPS. I don't know how they can get away with operating like this!0

I got a call today from "UK Claims" from a man with an indian accent called Allen. He was extremely rude on the phone and started shouting down the phone when I asked him where he had got my telephone number. I asked him to remove my number from my database and he yelled back saying I hadn't heard what he had to offer. I have never been so cross on the phone. He said their office was based in Manchester - but I can't find anything on the internet.
How dare they call on my bank holiday and on top of it shout at me in my own home in my time? So cross!
Has anyone else had any more calls - can their office be located to make a complaint?0 -
06485712459 - this is the number I was called from but when trying to dial back - it says it doesn't exist.0
