Buyers won't leave any feedback

Too many sellers forget this
Now you've opened up a can of worms
Feedback is based on the whole transaction, not just whether a buyer pays quickly. If as a seller you leave feedback as soon as the buyer pays you're stuck if the transaction goes pear-shaped. i.e buyer has a problem with item and negs immediately without giving the buyer a chance to sort it. etc etc etc.
Also their is no "Seller SHOULD leave feedback first", as has been said too many times to count, feedback is totally optional.
Try being a seller and getting stung after you have left feedback for a buyer that pays immediately and you will soon change your tune.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

You asked for views, sorry I didn't realize it had to be the same as yours.
Totally agree with that razor.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

i think that buyers SHOULD leave feedback, so other buyers can see what other buyer thought of you and your services, i had about 4 buyers that havnt left me feedback, and i actually think its rude as i have left them feedback!
i also dont sell very often, so it would be nice to appreciated from the buyers and help build up my feedback so that other people trust me.
but just one thing, i would never give them neg or netrual feedback as they havnt done any thing seriously wrong0 -

I agree with this. There have been cases mentioned on here recently where the buyer has paid but then demanded a refund for what doesn't seem to be a genuine reason; if you've already left positive feedback for the buyer, it's too late to change it. As a seller I used to leave positive feedback as soon as I received payment but I now wait until the buyer leaves feedback for me..0 -
dan, thats what I do know - I used to leave it first but after reading advice here I now wait - as a buyer I always leave as soon as I receive item, though if I am unhappy (not often mind), I contact them first to try and resolve it, got caught out this week though as made contact with seller, he agreed refund, I was waiting on this before feedback (would have given neutral not negative), but he has now been naru'd. tbh, I thought the OP was posting as a windup, its almost a form of blackmail - you don't leave me feedback then I'll neg you! OP, you have no reason to neg them, some buyers go through their feedback and do it in bulk, so there is no saying you won't get your feedback, however, as you have sent several reminder emails, it may now be a neutral and not the positive you were expecting, as tbh, if I was your buyer, I would be p'd off with you keep asking for it. You state you were not familiar with the feedback etiquette, I suggest as ob. a new seller, you familiarise yourself by reading some of the help topics on what to expect and procedures to follow as a seller.0

I too wait until the buyer has left feedback.
One thing that did annoy me recently is when a buyer was almost demanding that I left him feedback immediately. I simply replied about two or three times that I would be happy to leave feedback once I know the transaction has been completed to everyones' satisfaction.
I do sympathise with the OP, if you're trying to build up your feedback score and buyers simply aren't leaving you feedback, it is annoying.
If you are confident that the sale went well I would personally send an e mail worded along these lines:
"Dear .......
Thank you for buying my item {description}, and your quick payment.
I am writing to ask you assurances that the item that you purchased met with your expectations. Assuming this is the case I would be grateful if you could leave me appropriate feedback. {include links to your item and to e bay feedback explanations}
As you will see from e bays pages feedback for buyers such as yourself is important to other ebayers as this helps them to consider whether or not to trade with me. I set out to make such transactions hassle free and pleasent for my buyers and in so doing, hope to build up my feedback score to demonstrate to future potential buyers and sellers that I am a genuine trading partner.
Once I have received feedback from you I would be happy to respond by leaving feedback on your account to reflect the experience of selling to you.
All the best
Kind regards

same hear i wait for the buyer to leave feedback as i consider the deal complete only when the buyer has received the item and their happy with it and have left feedback to confirm this, when i buy im happy leaving feedback first.
as for leaving someone neg feedback because they didnt leave me any thats just spitefull and bang out of order.0 -

Obviously a buyer only!! Try reading how ebay suggest feedback is left.
As for the original poster...no thought went into this post.
Bad feedback has little or no impact on buyers after they have a few positves, whilst a few negatives can stop a seeler selling anything in no time! Sellers can only block buyers with a negative feedback rating.0 -
Despite? I would suggested that your repeated reminders may be the reason your customers aren't leaving positive feedback. They may have chosen to leave none at all because they are irked at being asked for it. Positive feedback is a courtesy, not a requirement. Leaving neutral or neg feedback would be likely to invite negative feedback in return. Though I generally dislike the notion of retaliatory feedback, I would certainly consider a neg just for failing to leave positive feedback to be a very good reason to neg in return. It's also possible that any more reminders might provoke a negative from some overly-irritable buyers, though personally, I would ignore it and leave no feedback.feival wrote:I have a few buyers who have received the goods (send recorded delivery so I have checekd) and they won't leave me positive feedback despite a few reminders.
I often tend to leave feedback for several transactions at once rather than individually every time a transaction is satisfactorily completed. I used to leave feedback first as a seller, but I've heard too many horror stories about unreasonable buyers, so now I usually wait for the buyer's feedback. I would not be deterred from leaving feedback by a single polite and friendly reminder, as in HugoSP's post, but if, before I'd got round to leaving feedback, I received "a few" reminders, I would consider that to be nagging, and would leave no feedback for that transaction unless I had reason to leave a neutral or negative.0
