Is there a way of returning to the thread list on a board, without going back via all the pages of a long thread? My browser back button just takes me back to the last page viewed, so if there are several pages on a thread, and I've read them all, it takes ages to get back to base.

Also, is there a way of refreshing a board without coming out of it and going into another one first? The forum jump button does not refresh unless you select a different board. Sometimes after being away from the site for a while, I just want to see if a currently open thread has been added to, or if there are new threads on the same board (well we all have our favourites ), but I can't work out how to check for new posts without going all round the houses.

It's probably obvious to those who understand these things! :rolleyes:

Refresh the page in IE by using the F5 function key

That forces the page to reload and newer posts will show up as unreads.

if a thread has several pages of posts, there is a little scale at the top and bottom of the page, with page numbers, click on those to jump back to 1 or jump forward to 4 (assuming they have 4 pages)

Another question - where have all the stars gone today? I am not seeing any for anybody.

to go back to thread listings in a board just click on board name [one of the links found above the bar with main site - chat - user cp - faq etc]

you have the option to go back to list of threads in the board
a section of the site
or the list of all boards on the site
