Thankyou for all your help and advice yesterday, it really did help.

Today i went online and applied for a co-op basic current account and then phoned to see if I can open a second one as i want to keep my dd's seperate, so they done it over the phone and it has been approved so yeah:j im now one step closer. Just have to wait a couple of days for the online application to be approved then i will start moving stuff over.

    Hi Andy

    Glad you are getting sorted.

My a plus account opened yesterday and by today I was all set up for online banking. Am too paranoid just now just to transfer direct debits so have called them all up indvidually and given them the new details.

Will have the collywobbles at least until I can see I have been paid into new account so I can cancel dd with zero loyalty bank.

A creditor called today, bottled it in terms of telling them about DMP, hope I get braver.

Letters and tokens have all gone out in the post, apart form zero loyalty bank, want to see they arent going to swipe my wages first, but everything printed and ready.

Sent my new details onto CCCS so hopefully I'm on track for a start date of June.

Hope everyone elses plans are heading in the right direction

    HHx

Think I've got a slummy mummy book lurking upstairs, never did read it though, off to see if I can dig it out later

    Hi HH
Sounds like you are doing really well and everthig is moving forward nicely!:)
You will get braver with the creditor calls, collywobbles doesn't go near to how terrified I was. So much better when you are able to give the cccs number! I think you have to know what you want to say and the info you are prepared to give them in the end I found dodging the calls more stressful than taking them! And by taking them the phone stopped ringing so often.

Hi, sorry think its me confusing everyone, it wasnt the cashminder ac I opened it was just the current account, think i chose it because i didnt want to talk to anyone after yesterdays fiasco but in the end i did anyway to open the 2nd one and was all ok, dosnt seem to be much difference between the 2, although the current ac does have an overdraft facility available it is not automatic and you have to apply for it which obviously i didnt do.

I too am a big scardy cat and will be moving my dds myself one by one, dont want my current bank to get wind of what im doing and was worried too that if co-op done the switch my bank would tell them i owed an overdraft and mess the whole thing up.

Enjoy the great dd swap Andy and HH ! It took me days!!!! But at least you know, exactly what's what and you can keep control! Does the current acc have a cheque book andy? Have had a sticky moment and had to lie and I'll just give you cash...we're waiting for a new cheque book!!!

I'm not sure exactly what type of account our Co-op one is. It used to be a Privilege one years ago, until we abused our overdraft and they downgraded us to something else. We stopped using it then and just slowly paid off the overdraft, so it's been empty and unused for a while. When we speak to them now they always say that we're eligible for a free upgrade to an account with a £200 overdraft, just say no thanks!

Not sure if our cheque book still works though…
