Hi, Nat - Natwest said the same thing to me, then charged interest on the 1st statement but 2nd statement has just arrived with zero interest on.

Got my Halifax statement as well today - they've decided to play nice for now and stop the charges.

    yey good stuff NB:j

Hi all, started the day feeling a bit more positive about not having so many luxuries anymore but I'm sad to say the mood has gone down again. :(
I am currently warming the water for a v hot bubbly bath in the hope that will lift things up again.:)

My 6yr old son is poorly today as well and it has been one meltdown after another:(:(

All is very quiet on the dmp front, maybe cause I only had one month of tokens and everyone seems to have accepted....

Nataz you should qualify for free or reduced entrance to many venues as a carer for your son.:)

Thanku all so much for all the advice and support.

It is the first trust bank i am trying to open an account in, i did try a basic account but it does not allow me to have dd's or a debit card, so it has to be a classic account it is pretty much the same except has the facility for dd's and debit card, it can have an overdaft but u have to apply for it, needless to say I wont be doing that!

The way I left it in the bank today was i filled in my details and the DH is suppost to go in tomorrow to sign and take the 3mths statements, might try sending in just the ones from the account that is ok and see what happens!!!!

In the meantime i will look into the online banks the co-op sounds good do they have links to anyone else?

once again thanks guys dont what id do without you this is a very scary business.

  • Hi All

Nothing much happening here, only received the Lloyds statement, we pay £116, they take £69 in interest, how is this helping exactly????? They are the pits.
"nd cheque for gold didn't arrive but got to give the guy some time.
Andy, the co-op basic account will give you a visa debit card and online banking as well as the facilities at the post office, so really useful and helpful.

Cheers am hoping so, gonna check out National Trust, see if they do reduced fees, got some lovely places near us with loads of kiddies activities.

All new to me and its amazing what you can find if you look hard enough. Gonna try and see if we can get a holiday this year or next. Bit awkward as DS as so much big bulky equipment so needs to be somewhere kitted out with disability bits n pieces. Hes not even one and already needs his own lorry to take his things :o

Sorry didnt realise you couldnt do the co-op account online. You learn something everyday :rotfl:

BTW saw that Alton Towers thing as well.... nearly fell of my chair laughing. Talk about funny timing :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I don't think Co-op are connected to anyone, though Smile is their internet arm.

Nataz - there might be all sorts of stuff you could access if you're a carer. In my area (Somerset) there's a current scheme called Give Us A Break, which gives carers access to free college courses, community learning, dance classes (and that sort of thing!), different leisure things, all sorts. And they'll provide respite care if you need it as well. It's only a trial in different areas, not national at the moment, but worth checking out.
