wow my dd was 15 last september and school nights bed is between 9.30.& 10pm. weekends about 10.30pm.
only when my other dd was 17 was she allowed to go to bed when she wants but I still expect her in bed before 11 or 11.30pm0 -
My DD was twelve the other day and she goes to bed at 9pm with 1/2hr tv or reading. My DS was 8 yesterday and he goes to bed at 8pm with no tv or reading if he wants tv then he has to go at 7:30 its his choice :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

Blimey, I'm usualy in bed at 10 myself, and I'm 37 lol!!!, my dd who is 11 is normally in bed for 9 at the latest on a school night and sometimes I'll relax a bit on a weekend, but I like her to at least be in her room by 9 so me and hubs can have a bit of childfree time.
I certainly wouldn't be allowing her to be up until 11, she'd be up way past me then!!Aug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00 -
MY DD is 11 and goes to bed at 8.30pm during the week, and 9pm Friday and Saturday. The only time she would get up any later is if we are on holiday, she would be allowed up later ONLY if she had a nap in the afternoon, their bodies are growing and need their sleep.
There was a school show that finished at 9.15 pm last week, she was participating so both nightd it was nearer 10 til she got to bed, despite giving her a longer lie the next morning she was still tired for a few days afterwards.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

That's very very late for an 11 year old (tend to find out who goes to bed when when you cover things like time in numeracy lessons and it's often an eye-opener)! I'd generally put the average at about 9 - 9.30 from when I've asked kids at schools I've worked at.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

My 11 year old goes to bed at 8pm and reads until 8.30pm on a school night. He claims everyone else stays up later too, but I tell him to go and live with them if it's so much better
He's sometimes up a bit later on weekends and school holidays if we are watching a film or something and he can lay in the next day. He's horrid if he doesn't get enough sleep though. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Once I went to high school I didn't have a bedtime. I usd to go to bed somewhere between 10 and 11 then read a bit. I was invariably up before 6 (waking naturally, not to an alarm). To this day I need no more than about 5hrs sleep most nights. Some people just need more sleep than others - I consider excess sleep a waste of good 'doing' time lol! If he is not grumpy, is getting the sort of grades he should and gets up okay I wouldn't worry too much.0

My son is 12, and had his bed time moved from 9.30 to 10 on his 12th birthday. Although he has to be in bed for 9, but he can read until 10.
Weekends he can stay up until 9.30 and read until 10.30.Moving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0 -
Another vote for the 'up to bed at 8.30 and lights out at 9 camp', maybe 9.30 at an absolute push, but no way 10 o'clock on a school night...especially since it's not as if they automatically go to sleep instantly. It could be 10.15/10.30 before he's asleep.
OP I'd tell your son to shut up and stop rocking the boat as he already gets to stay up later than most his age.Herman - MP for all!0
