Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for today. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.
Morning

Back to work today for one day, then 3 more days off. Just some coverage for the shift pattern.
Made the most of the BHL with some work on the boat ann then home made pie. Father in law came up, so that kept the OH occupied all day talking, so left me alone.
I would say I spent no money, but i did buy some sandpaper. The shops were packed too. Mind you the weather was not all that great.

I have decided I need a new TV. My old 28 inch square one which I thought was OK, is not. Most of the picture is missing... Even watching tripe like On the buses which was made when square TV's we all there was has been re formatted. The bus was missing from most of the shots.

Well, Starbucks coffee is brewed... Have a good day

Good morning, N9eav and all who follow. It looks to be quite a nice day here at the moment, although there's a tinge of red sky so who knows? The weather forecast doesn't look too bad. I slept all night, thankfully, and so don't feel too bad - all could change yet mind!

Not a lot to say as the day hasn't happened yet but I hope everyone has a good day (((hugs)))

Good Morning all, forecast is good for today.I am up with the birds this morning as I am going to London with my DD and four sons we are going to take them to the science museum in Kensington for the day I only have to make the coffee flask as DD is sorting out the rest of the picnic.
Yesterday we all had a good long walk with her two dogs along the Saxon Shore Way which is near to us on the River Medway. It was lovely, although a bit exhausting, I am so pleased as I managed to do almost two miles.True it was at my own pace but the boys were great and kept me company as we strolled along. It was such a lovely evening, and to see the river birds wheeling around in huge flocks was a sight to behold.I always find it amazing that they all take off together and fly it such perfect symmetry. It's things like these that are free to see, and its great to enjoy with the four little boys, you really don't have to spend money to have a good time
I have just put some bread out for 'Basil' as he has turned up again He seems to dissappear for a few days at a time then reappear when he feels the need for food. I hope everyone had a good weekend break and didn't eat too much chocolate. I am just going to make a sheppards pie to go in the freezer in a minute, as I got the mince out last night and was too tired to cook it so it had better get done this morning .
Have a good day everyone and <<hugs>> for those who are down and blue
    Cheers JackieO xx

Good morning all, it's a glorious day here. Sun is peeking out on to the garden and it looks so serene. I'm up early this morning, mainly because I have so much that needs doing and t'other because DDog Scruffy needed his first dose of honey for his cough. Although DH had done it when I went downstairs, so I saw DH off to work and thought I would check online and update etc...

Unfortunately can't go out until the veg box has arrived and the Argos delivery, but am hoping that they will have all arrived by late evening as I need to make a Dr's appointment for then.

As it's now the holidays I will be making my usual trip to see my friend in Whitstable one day, it's the only time we get to see each other as she works school term time :( And if the weather is nice it's a lovely drive there from Sittingbourne (without using the motorway), and we also take her children on the beach and have fish and chips for lunch..aah very OS.

Used up the manky bananas yesterday instead of throwing them on the compost, on a banana and sultana loaf for DH - I don't like it but I don't mind making it for him. We also had a very OS dinner using ingredients from the cupboard - sticky chicken wings marinated for 24 hours, diced potatoes roasted with onion and mushroom and an egg cooked in the middle of these after about 45 mins. Mmmm very scrummy and DH loved it. I also cleared out my food cupboard, although funnily enough I didn't have to throw anything away - now that is an achievement! Although I did find about 5 tins of chopped toms, 6 chicken tonight casserole mixes and 4 tins of Mr A cheap curry jars..lol

Hope everyone is having a lovely start to the day, and the day continues bright and blissful. I am off to feed the garden birds and hang the washing out before another load goes in. :D Then it's off to shower etc..

Hugs to those that follow xxx

    Morning All

Uolypool - your post made me feel tired!:D

Beautiful sunshine here this morning, I am the only one awake at the moment and am enjoying the peace and quiet.

Have to drop a vehicle off at the mechanics this morning, so will pop in Lakeside for a nice coffee & a quick look around as DD has some money that is burning a hole in her pocket. N9eav - I am the only one here who likes 'proper' coffee and I was given a starbucks gift card for Easter I will stock up on their instant stuff which is very nice.

Once home will start contacting the police & the insurance company, need to know when we can get our lorry back. Is a big headache but guess will get resolved eventually.

Will have a look at the menu plan and decide what to do for tonight, am thinking pork kebabs.

Off now to bung the washing in as should dry outside today.

    Have a good one.x

    Hi everyone,

An early one from me before work as the paper hasn't arrived.

I found out we'd run out of tea bags (disaster, I'm not a coffee drinker) and the porrideg oats made a scant 2 portions, also no orange juice so a visit to Mr S after work is in order.

I overdid it this weekend, My fingers are stiff, joy for work then and i had to hobble to the bathroom this morning.

I will be washing th spare beding DS slept in because SIs IL is coming to stay tomorrow. Quiche and baked pots for a meal tonight. Not a lot else going on.

    Morning All

Not a lot OS here today unless you count the washing drying everywhere as TD is on the blink...It keeps blowing the trip switch and I don't know why.

We will be out and about today as we have some MSing jobs to do and I want to get them out of the way early as I've promised DD we can make biscuits. Sandwiches for lunch and sweet & sour pork for dinner with noodles & stir fried veg.

DS1 cleaned the floors downstairs for me yesterday and hoovered upstairs and had a general clean around while I was out doing a few jobs. He is good.

Have a good day whatever you're doing and Diva good luck for today xx

    Good Morning All,

Diva wishing you all the best for today.

Welcome to the newbies, you'll like it around here, it's a nice neighbourhood!

Well, floors swept and washed this morning, dishes cleared off the rack from last night, just about to wake the devils and get them ready for grans as I'm off to w*rk. I'm only there 'til Thursday, then off until a week on Monday, so lots planned for the house. Need to get some paint on the walls, and some DIY repairs needing done. OH starts a really well paid job in two weeks, but there will be lots more hours for him, so need to get as much work out of him a poss before then.:T

Coco had tripe for dinner last night. I nearly varminted everywhere. The smell is so overwhelming, don't know if I can do that again._pale__pale_

Have alovely day, everyone. Hugs for those of you worried or poorly.

NPM keep your chin up, love. I hope you have a better day today.
