Well! Hello everyone! I've only been away a week in the sunny Isle of Wight and it's a new thread already - and far too much to catch up with!
Moneymaking seems to be on hold for me at the mo - my Ebay total for March was £64 - I'm not quite going to make that large sum we all started out to do! Ah well, I've now got to pull my finger out and do something!
Nice to be back here though!

Nikki - its definitely not the tiniest or pokiest kitchen I've ever seen so don't let the decor put you off. not that you are doing lol

Nikki - I've seen much much worse (my house in its original state for one!). The walls look flat and upright and the ceiling is not falling down - and it has a floor! My kitchen floor was originally lino (yes, real old linoleum) on top of - mud. We've done a bit of work over the years... but it's been worth it. Bit like the Fourth Bridge - never quite finished, but at least its paid for now - 32years later!:rotfl:
    Good luck with it.

    Hi Mrs Money.
£64 is still positive though and who knows what may happen between now and the end of the year. I hope you had a lovely time on the Isle of Wight.

nikki - when it is a repo the bank selling the repo control the whole process and they stipulate 28 days, so basically you would have to overlap by a month - but, if you could afford it, then it could be a good thing because it would give you chance to do a few jobs before you have to move in!! I think they say 28 days because it makes sure everything happens quickly, as the longer it takes the more interest the people who have lost the house are incurring and their bank has to be seen to be doing everything they can for them. Which also means that a week before you are due to complete they will advertise that the house at the price you are paying it for and if someone comes along with a higher offer they will seriously consider it. Though they will take into account time factors I believe. But, if for example you agreed a price of £49k and a week before you completed someone else came along and offered cash and a weeks completion at £55k then you would probably loose the sale. It is horrid, I know we did it 18months ago.

The 28 days is good because it stops the process dragging I have known people taken 6 months to move! And if you can get the EA on your side they will do what they can top help you because an easy sale is what they really want!

It is not your mortgage company that control it. You need to find out if it is a repo because if so your IFA should only look at mortgages you could get that quickly. (supposedly they all should be able to but in practise some are better than others!!)

Call the EA and ask if it a repo!! Have you done a viewing? If so I think they should already have told you.

Oh and when you put in an offer on a repo you need to be able to show you can fund the purchase - so you would need a mortgage in principle and a bank statement to show your deposit money. It sounds like a huge hassle but honestly it was one of the best things we have done as there is no way we would have a house like the one we are in now otherwise!

Ignore it all if you are north of the border - sorry!!!!!

    Hey Mrs Money.... Nice holiday?
Lovely holiday - thanks - great weather, super cottage we've stayed in before- just one small field back from the coast path and a little way off the road - a real relaxing boosting, shot in the arm - and we needed it. Back to face all the paperwork now, and the gradual clearing out of FIL's flat, but we feel more up to it now.
