He's a teacher at secondary school and tonight is deadline for gcse coursework being handed in. Coursework in his subject means using equipment only available in school so he's not leaving till they've finished.
he some of them on detention all last week and told them to come in on the inset day and he would help them but they didn'tturn up on the inset day so tonight it is.
troubl is once they get the actual work done he has to go through it and fill out endless paperwork.
He doesn't like people not getting their stuff done and feels guilty even though its their own choices. plus its only a small department so 2 or 3 students with bad marks is quite a large percentage of the departments results too.
this is always a stressful time of year not helped by fact will go through same with 6 formers due in by next week and probable ofsted in next few weeks.
He got a lift to work this morning so I could have car for some jobs I needed to do and so I'm going to pick him up when he's finished.

Hi all
Joey, how have you done with WW this week? i'm not looking forward to tomorrow's weigh-in, I haven't counted points or anything this week but think I'll make a fresh start tomorrow as have had a mad week with going out on Sat and being tired all week.
Elly, are you on my facebook? My memory's rubbish but if you are you can tell me what you want and show me some photosAm full of cold, going to doctor's tomorrow to ask for some different antidepressants as I've heard of some that are similar to fluoxetine but you're not as vague and lazy apparently. Could do with more energy. What I really want is Modafinil but that's cos I think there's a magic pill out there that will make me focus and get things done. Oh and let me stay awake a tad bit longer to get something more out of the day.
NLID, have you looked on the OS boards for ideas on how to cut back? I've just been looking at this

-think it's amazing, might be possible for me and kids but not for OH who is expensive to keepI have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.0 -
Hi Paula - I'm not sure to be honest. I had a day off on Saturday due to a party and I must have had at least double my points. Then on Sunday I was trying to be good, but found it really hard as I felt so rubbish. I was good yesterday, but ended up not going to bed till 5am this morning, so had toast and jam before I went. Then got up at 10am and had "more" breakfast. I'm still in my points today but I feel bloated and daren't weigh myself. On top of all that I've not been running which I think has been helping me lose for the past two weeks. All in all I'm dreading WI on Thursday!
Have you looked through the Weightwatchers thread on this forum? They are very nice on there and keep putting recipes and ideas up which I'm going to try. Homemade onion bhajis - mmmmmmm! And it's helpful to see other people going through their ups and downs to keep me on track.:jI shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my Squishy.0 -
Hi Paula- I'm on Fluoxetine which could explain my vagueness...nope actually I'm always like that! Whatever you do don't have Sertraline, took it for 3 days and it made me violently ill from both ends! ( too much info?!)
Have got to go back to docs this week to see if I am going to keep taking the Prozac or come off it TBH I hope I stay on it coz I feel better at the mo than I've done for years, even before I had depression for the first time :-/
Can do without another episode with a new business and new puppy!!
Have got an idea in my head for a new piece of jewellery but haven't got any further than that- sorry!0 -
OH had Sertraline, it made his stomach churn too, see how nicely I put that? Hehehe! It also made him 'spacey' and 'buzzy' so no I don't think I'll let them give me that lol! Modafinil is an anti-narcolepsy drug but there's an article here on its use for people who just want to get more done

- I'm seriously tempted to get some, I realise how silly this is...I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.0 -
Why wasn't I surprised that that link led to a weezl menu plan LOL? Weezl is the guru of cheap eating! I spent a lot of time on OS for a while, and could really do with getting back there occasionally, but I put on a LOAD of weight while I was on OS as I kept baking bread and making HM jam, and lots of bread + jam = chunky monkey!! So I took time out, while still being pretty OS as that's just who I am and how I was raised. So I still make wine and grow stuff and gather stuff from the heath etc. just without quite as many calories!
Have been out to water my veggies and 3 or 4 peppers have come up since yesterday, so whoever it was whose peppers were disappointing so far - don't give up, they might pop up soon like mine have!
Mambury, I'll let you have a freebie as I really doubt if they will survive. Maybe you can do me a good turn sometime? I prefer trading favours to trading money iykwim?
Have just discovered that the watering can rose has split (looks like someone stood on it), so my £1 for today is gluing it back together rather than my first inclination of going and buying a new one. Hopefully it will hold. Although I did get DH to get me a pizza from Tesco for dinner as I just really fancied one. I've lost 3lbs this week and my plan is to lose 1lb every fortnight, so I'm allowed a pizza occasionally!
My second May task thingy is panning out to be something along the lines of making sure that I keep up to date with sending information to health visitors, press releases to papers, leaflets to libraries etc. all of which I'm pants at as I spend all my time on basic running the business rather than all the nice bits round the edge that I can run without but would bring in those extra few people that might make all the difference. I've got a list of marketing ideas from head office and I'm going to go through and make a list of things that apply to me and extra bits that I can do and then doing a calendar with them on so I make sure I top up library leaflets, say, once a term, check availability is up to date on the website once a week, etc. Having a contacts folder with things like addresses and phone numbers for libraries and health visitors etc. and when libraries are open and when baby clinics are would be good as I spend a lot of time finding stuff like that each time, rather than having it to hand.0
