Mambury that sounds really tough - I hope she finds her way through it and that you have people round you who can support you too.

thanks Jo... nope I am sister, parent, friend.... Parents aren't on the scene... and what makes it even more difficult she is adopted so has some serious abandonment issues too.
We'll get through it.... but it her behaviour/illness comes in cycles, she is fine for a few months and then is drinking to the point her doc gives her months to live (liver damage), cleans up is fine for a while and then she got into heroin, cleans up, gets hooked on prescription meds.... oh and before all this a crack cocaine addiction.... It is very hard seeing your little sister doing this to herself. All three of us (sisters) have had issues with drugs, drink etc due to upbringing but my youngest sister and I have managed to get over it, but middle sis is still living it. I;m quite frightened that she won't see her 30th birthday, she is only 28. I guess its wait and see and hope for the best.
I;ve spent too much time worrying about it though, 10+ years of it does take its toll... There is only soo much I can do at the end of the day.sealed pot challange #572!Garden fund - £0!!:D£0/£10k0 -
Good morning everyone!
Well I dont know about the where you all are the weather here is positively atrocious! I really need to get out and buy a little food at least but it is so windy, ready to chuck it down and freaking cold. I think today is going to be one of those days to just stay curled up on the settee, and watch films and maybe do some work on my blanket or maybe even a bit of cross stitch or just curled up with a good book! If I get brave I will nip out and get some bread at least, still having to be careful what I buy with no fridge yet lol
It would appear the strong winds have blown out the pilot light in my boiler and I honestly have no clue how to relight it and to be fair, I am scared to death of things like that! Going to have to get brave and try and take a look at it, just one of those silly fears I suppose!
What is everyone else up to this morning?I am somebody. I am me. I like being me. And I need nobody to make me somebody! Louis L'Amour0 -
Munchki - have a look on the diy board...at home?......they may be able to help. Our boiler has a reset knob, just turn it and it comes back on.......did it this morning.... sorry rushing off, hence odd post!!Life is a work in progress0

Mambury you are amazing for still being there for her and not giving up. you must really wish that you didn't have to keep being the strong one. You sound so compassionate and I really wish you and your sister well in getting through this next part of the cycle. it must be so scary hun.

munchki there may well be instructions somewhere on the boiler otherwise look at make and model and google it.
they have cut off features so that if there is no flame then gas gets stopped so you can't cause any problems safety wise but sometimes they can be a bit frustrating to get going again.

this boiler is relit through, behind the fire in my lounge. I am just going to have to get brave and give it a go. with no curtains in the flat yet etc and the wind the way it is, rather chilly in here at the moment. I know the boiler was just completely serviced last saturday so not worried about that, just need to figure out how to relight it, lol I knew I should have asked him while he was here but with moving I was rather stretched at the time!I am somebody.
