Just having a little moan ....

Despite doing lots on my part prompting Tesco cashiers regarding the promotion, I am still having to approach CS for missing green points.

Was in a local branch of Tesco Express just now and despite having pointed out that I had brought my own bag and was expecting to be awarded a green point, the cashier forgot to add it. She then tried to make an excuse by saying only managers can award points.

    RUBBISH.

Dragged the manager out and got it sorted.

Why are Tesco staff so ignorant of their store's own promotions?

For some reason, the SA put through 4 points when I used one bag on one shop, then 7 bags (putting them through as 4, then 3) on my second shop when I only used 3 (did two split shops)

So happy that I received a total of 11 points, rather than 4.

agreed - went to tescos this week with my carrier bag which i had been carrying round all day!- got to checkout and pass the card to cashier who said you can't have any points because it was under £1. i said i bought my own carrier bag, tescos were giving one point for each carrier and this was a different scheme to usual spending on clubcard. the cashier said but it is under £1- i pointed to a huge poster in their window which advertise the carrier bags points- the cashier said it's not over £1. i said it does not have to be over £1. at this point a tescos colleague who was in the queue behind me said they would have to call a supervisor and walked off moaning she wanted to go home. the supervisor came over and explained the scheme to cashier who put points on but no apology. there was a queue of people behind me and the shop was closing soon. i felt annoyed because not only because it was embarrasing but no apology. what do you have to do?

I went in the other day and the cashier was very chatty but he forgot to swipe my clubcard. I asked at CS to add the points on (normal points).

What I have just realised is -

on original receipt (clubcard not swiped) it said bag re-use 4 points and when they put on my points for the shopping (20 or so) they never added the green points on. I discovered this as my running total is 4 short.

I don't mean to be picky it's just that they should be consistent and fair to everyone with the number of points awarded, otherwise it causes bad feeling. The scheme is proving to be full of niggles. It would be so much easier to charge for the bags like in France. You soon learn and having coughed up for your first bag you nearly always take it or just put your stuff back in the trolley and pack at the car.

I also agree with a comment someone made earlier about them going downhill. Many times I go in and there is empty shelf space, totally run out of products and the bread seems to be random as to which loaves they stock at mine. I think they are good value but service could be better.

You were probably nice to the cashier when someone else had been nasty or she was having a bad day. If my customers are nice to me, I'm nice to them!

Glad to hear this - I'm always nice and chatty even if I'm harrassed by 2 children but sometimes you get the arrogant grunting teenager or the old battle axe!

Shopping is boring enough and its always nice to end with a little gossip even if it is with someone you don't know.

Was getting to know the self-service supervisor quite well but can't use that now if I'm to get all those lovely green points

I'd probably have had to say something like - no, no don't apologise:rolleyes:
