Hello OS'sters tired Money Saving Expert here. Got in from filming at about 10 o'clock had 4 hours of computer work to do. Had to go into BBC Breakfast for 8 (having originally said no, but was nagged and stupidly changed mind). Been running on empty for three days - father not well and playing on my mind. Throat hurts, headache, tired. Got to go do radio 2 today - and much as I love it - a live phone in is always a challenge. I'm now in the office - and barring drinking lots of coffee or taking any medications - what can i do to get myself perky (remember there's no kitchen here!). Yours in one long dirgy sentence because Im too tired for spaces.

Read all the thank you Martin posts in the how much have you saved bit - it would cheer me up no end to know that I had helped people as much as you.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I find a 'Sun Salute' usually wakes me up. (I have to go to the Ladies', so I don't get funny looks at work!)

stand up. taking a deep breath, raise your arms slowly above your head and place your palms together. Exhale slowly, bend forward from the waist, keeping arms in front of you. Bend until you reach your toes. Take another deep breath in and slowly stand up, bringing your arms out to the side, then take them above your head again.

remember to go slowly so you don't feel dizzy.

Pop out and buy some fresh fruit to eat. All the vitamins will perk you up, and might help with the sore throat etc!

It's my birthday today, so I'm infectiously perky. I'm passing it on telepathically to you :D

    Morining Martin .....

I have lots of things for you to try but since you probably don't have time how about

    1) stop drinking the coffee and replace with water and lots of it (I know its boring but anyone will tell you to do it)

    2) Go to the bathroom and splash your face, neck and wrists with lots of cold water - I know that we are supposed to be saving water at the moment but it sounds as if yours is an emergency and need it!

    3) Sit in a quiet area, empty your mind (I imagine it is hard, but try to stop thinking about your Dad for a few minutes) and breathe properly /meditate for at least 10 minutes - don't fall asleep :rotfl: :rotfl:

These things always help me, hope they may be of some use to you

Have a power nap, you'd be amazed how much brighter you will feel after just 10 minutes with your head down. That's if you are one of the lucky people who can sleep at their desk - my DH can sleep on a clothes line.

Sing ... singing is great fun especially at the top of your voice. Even if you don't know all the words, make them up ... if you sing and make your own words up you end up smiling ... then laughing ...

...then everyone thinks your mad and gives you a few days off :D
