I just realised I missed the second part ! Seen the first one on i-player, will have to do the same for this one.
I'm afraid I have been known to garden in a skirt in warm weather....0 -
ooooh aless, I forgot to say you said you were following the planner loosely cos of Mr Aless' training regime, bit I wanted to add that as a BF mum you need to add an extra 500 cals per day for yourself, so that's a fair bit of extra carrot cake!
and on the calorie front, Lesley's fab new spreadsheet addition has revealed some interesting things... Guess which is Bob and shirl's most calorific dinner?
I might offer a prize
I'll tell you all in the morning!

It's no wonder Weezl sticks to her budget if you feed her hubby every morning! lol
You'll all be living in a kibbutz soon! :T:T:T
Dammit Sian you have outed us now!!!!

Sorry Weezl, I am not feeding your hubby in the morning (although I am sure he is gorgeous and I would wish I was:D) it just shows how much I blummin' well think about the 'Weezl plan' .
Truth be told-I always thought fresh was best and frozen/tinned fruit and veg wasnt as good.:o

PS the steamed lentil pudding looks very interesting
PPS there is a gary rhodes one which I have veganised for visitors in that past which just used onions and 4 big field mushrooms
Will think more about the cheese...:)
DH and I found we could make a cheese spread which made lunch be 14p, so it could fit in planner 2.... especially if cuppas were reduced/omitted...
Murrell, another question: what do you and OH do about hot drinks, do you have tea and soya milk or do you have fruit tea?

Gary's recipe not on the internet sadly - he did (as he tends to do) make it very flippin complicated.
I did however find this net mum link which simplifies it quite a lot, yay!

cheese spread sounds good.
I think the onion tart is probably the calorie killerSealed pot member 735

Frozen can actually be better than shop-bought fresh, Arty, as "fresh", by the time it's reached you, could have deteriorated to a great extent, whilst frozen, if frozen straight after picking, can have its vitamins and minerals far more intact at the time you eat it.
I don't do calorie counting, but I can tell you what I found most filling so far - risi bisi, chili and pizza, in that order.0 -

just took a look at your vege tomato steam pudding, looks delicious, how do you cook it? Desperate to have a bash at that, especially with the olives in!
Input here for what we have in drinks as we dont have cows milk, we use soya milk, hubby hated it to begin with, but years later he puts about 1/3 of a cup in his tea! We use soya milk in porridge, pancakes, anywhere basically that requires a milk substitute. You can make white sauces with it, and can buy it in sweetened and unsweetened.0 -
I'm learning loads about myself and about health. I genuinely think I have been poor at attending to me and mr weezl's calcium and omega 3 intakes in the past, and I suspect that when I am 65 I shall want to come back in a tardis and snog all of you because my bones won't be riddled with osteoporosis, and Mr Weezl will have a healthier heart
Mmmm not sure that this is what i signed up for where does that fit in the planner?. I know you are a lovely girl but.........................:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
[QUOTE=weezl74;
we tried a vegan tomato steamed pud tonight, piccie in the usual place but my method is a bit sketchy!
murrell do you think it's a goer? the whole meal with wedges and carrots is 36p :money:

I looks nice and I'm sure its tasty, only I (and OH for that matter) don't like olives! Not that it shouldn't be on plan of course. I would certainly make something like that, and just substitute carrots or mushrooms or something for the olives. Great price though!!!
I do like helping with this project, but I won't be able to be a tester for plan 3, (only some recipes along the way) as OH is very stuck in his ways and hasn't tried any of the things I have tested so far. But I did mention you can make pastry with rapeseed oil when he was discussing having more rapeseed oil, rather than flax yesterday and he said can you make a pasty with potatoes and carrots. Then today he asked when I was going to make it. So I hope its possible and will be trying that out soon. Will let you know how it goes.
Murrell, another question: what do you and OH do about hot drinks, do you have tea and soya milk or do you have fruit tea?
Neither of us drink tea or coffee, we never have, I don't like them and OH has never tried them. We drink water during the day, although I have ribena sometimes and in the evening have a cocoa made with soya milk. For occasional treats we buy banana, strawberry or vanilla soya milk.
We of course are not the norm in this. Although we have a few vegans in the family, they all drink there coffee/tea black, apart from OHs brother who has vanilla (or plain) soya milk in his. From the discussions on the vegan thread, its a bit hit and miss with soya milk curdleling and you have to follow a method or buy a particular brand. Although it wouldn't effect me, I was wondering what you was going to do for planner 3. As I understand it planner 3 only became vegan by default through needing fresh fruit and dropping the expensive items to pay for it meant it had become vegan.
