However, when you search for "potatoes" (not smart price or indeed smartprice), the 2.5kg for 78p does come up, as the very last option :)

Re what to do next, I basically agree with Allegra. Once Kitty’s plan is live, I think the most value will be gained by putting a nutritional box on each separate recipe, as this would reassure that the nutrition has been considered & calculated. And also, would be a tool for anyone who feels ready to fish & do their own plan.

In my opinion, a second plan for Shirl would have merit, as it would give her somewhere to go after month one if she was still not confident going off plan & had totally accepted the first month’s validity.

However, given the aim to teach her to fish, rather than provide the fish, and the time it would involve to do a further full month’s plan, I think that there would be more value in providing more fishing tools.

For example, more nutritional information such as a portion of fruit =, a portion of veg =, but remember you can count one glass of fruit juice, and also x of dried, a portion of pulses, … and canned and/or frozen are just as good, if not better, because … The RDAs for iron, calcium etc. are … And the additional recipes (including the gorgeous red pepper tart), with nutritional information stated.

And, maybe, further fishing tools such as how to batch cook, which has been started & is being developed further. Possibly, how to put together your own meal plan. Other ideas might be how to frugalise a recipe, if there are particular family favourites they want to still include. And how to cost up a recipe, if want to use own. Maybe how to adapt for single living, or single parent living, or other non-standard 2+2 situations.

Then would end up with two complete meal plans, one meat & one not, which show it can be done at this price level with all RDAs met. Plus all of the tools Shirl or Kitty would need to be able to develop their own plans, which is a lifelong skill.

There are some very useful writing tasks contained within Juliette's post above.

I realise I ask you all for a lot of help :o

But taking the risk that you're all doing it because you enjoy it/feel it's worthwhile :) would anyone like to volunteer to collect our group thoughts on the articles juliette's suggested?

shanks, pretty please can you add me publishing the chick pea crumble and savoury bites to my do list please? Sorry for the delay on that sandra, Kitty is proving to be one helluva high maintenance laydee!

So that's cals, fat, calcium, Iron, salt and fibre.

About vitamins and minerals, my feeling at the moment is that will be a huge amount of info on the page, a bit daunting and not really that useful to kitty/shirl, but happy to consider if people think this has merit :)
If you put any nutritional information at the bottom of the page then people can choose to ignore it very easily but those who are interesetd will be able to read it.

thanks susan, so are you saying you think all the vitamins and minerals should be on each page for each recipe?

I didn't think originally that was what folk were asking for, but happy to consider it, just not sure of the merits vs time taken IYSWIM :)
