Please don't take this the wrong way, I'm genuinely puzzled.
This thread is now over 6k posts long and appears on the How Much Have You Saved thread. I can't figure out how much anyone has saved. In fact I can't figure out what the thread is about apart from general chit chat about food and recipes. Is it possible to put a sticky somewhere giving an explanation of what's what?
do you mean it should be moved errata? we were advised to have it here, rather than on old-style as this is where money-saving challenges and blogs are being hosted now AFAIK..

It's a project to help people save money on household spends, and yes we have had quite a lot of messages from people who've saved money :)
    (ourselves included!)

not sure if that helps but please do ask again if not

Hello :) The purpose of the thread is to create a meal planner that covers all nutritional needs of a family of four on as little money as possible. The reason it is in the "How much you've saved" forum is because that's where we were told by the MSE team it should be, as it was considered unsuitable for the Old Style forum (where most of us have met).

The planner we have created can be found by looking at the first page of the thread, then following the "essential lists" link in Weezl's post, and then clicking on the top link of this post.

When I did the Planner 1 for a month, I saved £160, because instead of spending my food budget of £250pm, I only spend £90.

Hope this helps clear your confusion, and if you are interested in anything else, we'll be only too glad to explain or help :)

I had a friend here last night who was amazed that I had fed a family of 5 adults for £100 a month. He spends £100 on just himself.
business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

I eat beef too, Arty. I missed the first BSE scare because I was not in the country yet, the second because I was veggie at the time. I have done sufficient research though to understand the risks - I think - and I find the risks acceptable.

That should not be taken as advice for anyone though - I do a LOT of things that are bad for me :) And I'm afraid that I am of belief that something's gonna get me in the end, so I'd rather enjoy the bit in the middle to the max.

Perhaps we need some kind of summary chart a bit like this to help people see what is in each planner/choose which one to use?

just resurrecting this post by susan.

Do people like this as a way of helping shirley/kitty decide which is the right planner for her?

Potty, when you're next on - I believe you tested a few of the vegan recipes ? Can you have a look at the site and check that you're happy with the preparation and cooking times as published ?

    Thanks :)

Yep, Weezl, I like Susan's chart idea.

Just a quick note to say that not all of the prep & cook times have been published yet. See my posts at 4057 or 5956 and 5958. Thanks. :)

Anyone here with songwriting experience ? I have a task for you ;)

Hornetgirl, a recipe for you to proofread, please :)

    http://www.cheap-family-recipes.org.uk/recipe-houmousvegan.html

Ok, just a couple of things. In the ingredients we have 2 teaspoons garlic powder but 1/4 tsp chilli. I think to be consistent we should stick to one or the other (and then follow through with the same convention on all recipes?)
In the method, there should be a comma after loose.

Can't help with the songwriting though I'm afraid :D
