Hi all I need to illustrate pinkhayley's alternatives article, but using photos of the recipes we're changing seems a little strange?! Errrm anyone got any inspiration?

Raw ingredients ? Sends the subliminal message that a single ingredient can be turned into lots of different things :)

I have to apologise now for an outburst of being an-old-stick-in-the-mud to follow, but I just needed to say that I am starting to fear that all our Skype chatting and referring to it might alienate some contributors to the thread, if they feel that a certain number of people are going off to chat to each other elsewhere and leaving them in the dark :o

So I feel that perhaps a couple of things need saying from time to time for anyone who hasn't the time or the ability to keep up with all the chat on a regular basis - that is, that the CFR team is open and non-exclusive, and anyone who wants to join the Skype convo cam do so at any time simply by downloading Skype and then finding one of us so we can arrange for Weezl to add you in; and I think we need to promise on the thread that any project-related info that comes from the Skype convo will be noted on the thread for those who are simply unable or unwilling to spend half their time nattering, yet still want to help with CFR :)

Do you guys follow what I'm saying, or am I just being overcautious ? I just worry that we might be leaving the impression that we are becoming this tightly-knit frugalista gang and that newcomers are not welcome, which could push people away.

He he, I came to the Skype chat way too late which was a shame, I just talked about doctor who for 5 mins and then left :)
I can see that it is a good idea for the people who are online at the same time to have some ideas back and forth and it is a quicker way than on here to clear up any issues and ask any questions. It is a good tool and saves everything taking ages to talk about on here. Maybe someone could summarise the important points of the chats on here, I read back some of last nights and got a bit lost!
e.g. *Merits of putting Joel's plan on in full discussed; concern expressed about time taken for Weezl and potential benefits
    * Discussion around suitable photos- suggestion for ___ to look at options and feedback
    * Number of members of facebook group increaed so ____
    Would that be possible?

So you want someone to do minutes :) Great idea, but I'll not be volunteering for it - condensing things is not one of my strengths ! Now, if you wanted someone to expand and elaborate.... Crikey, can you imagine ? The thread would be a 1000 pages longer in no time ! :rotfl:

    *beaming*

ate some pasta with liver and the cryptic and mysterious carrot pudding.

    I am pleasantly surprised!

    It is not vile :)

it was nice. I do not Lurve it.

But I don't think I expected to particularly.

Good news for anyone who doesn't like liver-it really doesn't taste at all of liver. 9g of liver makes 125g of pasta taste vaguely meaty, a bit like if I had added a hot homemade chicken stock to it, but not stronger or more meaty than that.

Just popped in quickley and saw this. I think I posted a recipe some while ago for pasta and liver puffs which my kids ate and liked (but they don't believe me now)
Put cooked liver in a processor with same amount or a little more of any cooked pasta and an egg and whizz it up till smooth. Drop spoonfuls into hot fat and drain and place onto kitchen paper when golden. I think there may have been a bit of s+p in there too.

    thanks grandma 247 :)

I don't mind about not using skype really, I was needing something to use to communicate things that CAN'T be said on the thread, which I'll still have to do occasionally, but I'm happy to do the rest of my work on here only, or in the 121 parts of the skype forum.

I'd rather no-one did minutes, but I do think it would be good if someone can help hayley out with the summary she asked for yesterday? Or perhaps someone else has a larger clipboard area on their machine and can copy and paste it.

I find it interesting that this research sets the bar this high but when you look at what is seen as 'minimum' standards it makes a little more sense. Having a holiday and access to social activities is not, to me, a minimum standard. You could blow this lot out of the water Weezl with your frugality or show people who don't have an income at this level how they can reduce one of their major expenditures to avoid debt

I used to be fairly good at minutes and am prepared to give it if that helps :j

I never meant stop using it :) I just worried that we might end up appearing cliquey and exclusive, and I know you said it in the past that's the last thing you would want.
