Sorry haven't been around much the last couple of days. :o DD's school is having a year 6 'prom', so after physio & school yesterday went shopping for a sewing pattern (very few available for tween evening gowns!) & fabric. Got some lovely pink tafetta for a bargain £3 a metre. :D And today has been carnival day.

Anyway, have had a yes from maryb, so updated list is:

    annie123/ AT (London)/ yes
    esmf73/ EF (England)/ yes
    Gingervamp/ JP (South Wales)/ yes
    greenbee/ GB (Hampshire)/ yes
    Julimk/ JK (Essex)/ yes
    Kitchenbunny/ KB/ yes
    maryb/ MB (London)/ yes
    NJW69/ NW (England)/ yes
    whatawit/ CC/ yes
    Winged one/ GO’C (Ireland)/ yes

Not sure if we will get round to making the doughnuts tomorrow at the mo, as DD is feeling a little poorly. Will see what I can do re prep/cooking times on vegan recipes on Monday.

Meant to say, me & DD are in the meat as a non-negotiable camp, so I asked a cousin who is veggie for her views on the vegan recipes. She said that she thinks the site is fantastic & has tweeted it. She also said that she already does a lot of her own versions of some of the vegan recipes but thinks there is some great inspiration on there. :D

Also it would be fab to have your feedback on how the site will navigate, as per my post of yesterday.

    My 2d :)

I think you should leave the tabs as they are. Use 'meal planners' for the 2 plans (first page to explain what they are), linking to their meal plan which links to the appropriate recipe and the shopping list. I.E. like it is now, but add in plan 2.

Use 'recipes' for a complete list of ALL the recipes without differentiating between plan 1, plan 2 and others.

I wonder if anyone can just help me understand how the 'more recipes' thing is useful, ie how just doing the first month kitty/shirley planner will have been enough to teach them to put the month's food together for themselves, so that they can then go 'off plan'.

I'm not being obstinate I'm genuinely confused!

OK here goes :D I see the inclusion of a variety of other similar frugal meals and snacks as the next logical step in this great website. Kitty/Shirl will soon get fed up with the lack of variety if they follow their plans for 3 or 4 months and may not have the ability to frugalise other recipes or indeed, invent their own.

So the other recipes are a valuable resource for them to go 'off plan' with confidence. Plus, people are more likely to come back time and time again if they have a larger variety to choose from. Those who don't like certain foods can substitute meals which don't contain them.

Btw, I think I agree with aless about the new font. To me, it is not as attractive or easy to read or professional looking as the one you used before and I've no idea why - it is just a gut thing :o

morag, i'm glad i'm not going mad on the font think!! Also, i like ur idea of the recipes tab being all recipes...it makes so much more sense than what i was saying.

  • Hi

yes you can just write on the wall on FB. Not everyone will get notified that you have written ( that only happens if CFR writes) but anyone visiting the page will see it.

I am also a little more resourced than I was before, chronic fatiguey type thingies remit when stressors do :D. So I'm prob up for a tasklet or two.

Allegra I've made a change to the size of the spacing of text on the site which should make for a bit less annoying scrolling on your monitor. Could you have a brief lookie and see how that is for you?

Looks ok to me, though I dunno what I'm comparing it to in any case... :p
