any idea how much the drained weight of the toms is? Then I can subtract that from the total weight of the jar, and work out how much oil there is

thanks for the hugs, I need them at the mo
it's giving the oil as 50% of the total ingredients, so if that's what we're draining off, then roughly 50%?

OK, I'll do a calc using that then

Edit - that means that we are now running with a 21,314 shortfall or 171 pppd

murrell sorry to thrust yet another job your way!

Whaddyaknow about saturated fats in a vegan diet? (I've been prompted by receiving Lesley's data this morning- yay for speedy lesley!:A)

    How do you get yours?

Any probs relating to not having any?

Dummy question, is it only palm oil and coconut oil that are non-animal sources?

PS sorry the nut loaf was bad :(

It was a recipe created by that vegan loaf studio calculator... but I wonder if I didn't allow enough seasoning?

Jenny, lesley and murrell (ie all those who didn't like the loaf!) can any of you think of what might redeem it?

Only got 5 mins,so will not answer in detail. I know you asked me this before what saturated fats I eat and I can't remember my exact answer, but I know that coconut and cocoa are 2 sources in my diet.
I have had success in all the other vegan loaf studio loafs, what a shame. I don't think it needs the flour and it may be like the others have said that we all used too much liquid. It could have more seasoning/garlic/marmite

    Got to go now.

lesley it's 1577 total cals for the 3 jars yeast extract, does that help?

and if we allow 75 cals each daily for the piece of fruit, that's 9300 more

Some thoughts on less nutty nut loaf. I used the method which Lesley posted a few days ago, but with double the quantity of nuts, marmite and oregano. I didn't smash the nuts up too much to try to help the texture, and also used only three quarters of the liquid as the mixture seemed very wet. I also pre-roasted the onion as suggested by Weezl.
As far as the taste went it was fine, not at all marmitey, just a nice savoury flavour. We really didn't like the texture though, it was very claggy and stodgy. The earlier version was far, far nicer. This was ok enough to eat, we just probably wouldn't have it again. There's a small portion left over which I had thought might do for my lunch tomorrow, but I'll probably have a ham sandwich instead!

so is it the ready oats do you think? I have breadcrumbs to spare if that might be nicer? Don't worry, not asking you to risk it! :)
