Morning, hope your feeling brighter today

Well I know one particular friend has very very little money to spend on food and thought this site would be perfect for her. So sent her a link of facebook and when I saw her the next day she was very impressed with it and we were chatting about where I had found it etc..

I was explaining about how we had figured out the nutrients etc... and she realised that I had a (very very small) part in helping set it up and she was surprised.

I think at first she thought it was to do with a course I may be taking/or a family member but when I explained MSE etc..she seemed a bit suprised and was questioning why people put time in.

To tell you the truth it caught me off guard and I had no answer for the question.

    Hope that helpsxxx

p.s I have just 'liked' Lesleys comment if you want to find mexxx

Sorry if my question put you on the spot arty, it just hit something with me that people would think that...

    Not quite sure why...

Think I was a bit shocked that people might think that 'it' had any money with which to pay it's contributors IYSWIM...

    Does that make sense? :)

PS, I don't know you very well yet, but I think you've helped because originally you were mildly interested in the eccentricities of the 50p challenge (lurker :))

then when this challege started I'd say it tapped into your values about helping people and a personal uncomfortableness about debt, and also it's fun and there are nice people on here.

But now tell me your real reason :rotfl:

No problemo-I think the answer I wanted to give was, 'well we are just nice people' but it seemed a bit mean IYSWIM?:)

I dont think she had thought there was a corporate giant behind it or anything and I think it was because she knows I'm quite busy and wondered why I would give time to something I wasnt benefiting from. However I tried to explain I had benefited in lots of ways, i.e saved money on my shopping, learned LOADS of new things (except how to make bread:mad:) and gave me a different focus when I'm sick about thinking about my studies/work worries.

Also its like a gang isn't it?? A frugal freedom fighters if you will :rotfl::rotfl:

134 unique shirleys have now arrived to us via facebook (so this is people who never visited us due to MSE, so can't be lots of the pals off the parent club thread :))
:j Is that since the Facebook page started or does it include before when some of us posted the link on our profiles?

i can't write on the wall under my own name since i'm the admin but don't mind saying i'm Megan B, so add me! Great news about the hits weezl. I noticed some of my in laws visited the page so it definitely helps spread the word :D
If you "like" posts on the wall then that comes up in your own name.

I wonder if that is partly a reflection of how good the website looks. Also you do get sites which are free to use and benefit people that do make money to pay people. MSE would be a good example.
I like the way you remedied that my posting again :)
I didn't really think that through did I. I think it's the fact that I was talking to myself for 50 minutes that looks really strange.

They did ask me why I was helping out as I weasnt getting paid. I didnt really know what to say to that one lol-basically cuz its fun:D

It's called "volunteering your time and skills for a good cause". You know, like helping out in an Oxfam shop, only better (cos you don't have to get off your erse to do it) :)

Silly question from an FB newbie - how do I see all the people who liked the page ? I can only see 6 at a time, and none I recognise, and am a bit apprehensive about adding people I do not recognise, lest they go "who are you, you weirdo" and reject me.... I am there as AGH, and have just liked the page, if anyone wants to add me :)

I've added you and suggested some other people to you. I didn't work this out myself (Sian told me) but if you keep refreshing the page, it changes the six people you can see. I think you can only see everyone if you are admin.
