Oh, I was also wondering why we ended up losing the roast chicken? I think I missed it when it was discussed.0

Morning guys-
Weezl-thank you for worrying about my fruit and veg intake. I have ordered the raisins and will attempt to include them in as many things as I can.
I will update the index but would you mind if I did it later? I'm travelling home today and dont want to get involved in a task then have to leave. Also it will take me over six hours to get back so I need to sort myself out for the journey this morning.

Does that make any sense at all?:rotfl:
Ah, I'm with you Jenny! It's not you being confusing, it's me being perpetually perplexedxxx
meals with potatoes: In the spirit of adding variety, you can either make them into wedges or add an oil and vinegar dressing each time, or alternatively you could use some of shanks' mayo (I'm guessing you'll have to do this quite a bit shanks cos you've made loads!) in any case all I ask is that you use approx 25ml per person per meal of oil to coat the potatoes whether you're roasting or dressing them

I tried with both before and they were good, shall I try one with less milk or no mik?
Well I've just done a batch that was:
30g cheddar
30ml oil
120ml water
200g SR flour
60g lard
35g RBrek
20 ml vinegar
tspn mustard powder
lots of cracked black pepper
Either a repeat of that or if you have it, sub the cheese for 25g tom puree, I'm going to try for 2 flavours of savoury scone
only knead them very lightly, and I made 17 from this batch.
I cooked them for 10 mins at gas 7
edit oops forgot to say saltdefinitely needs salt. They are yummy though I think

Ok, my youngest DD isn't too impressed with my bread. (I do think I didn't put enough salt in it) and she doesn't like the Tangy Bean Pate.
She thinks it tastes like baked beans on bread...do you think I've done something wrong there?
On a more positive note, she loves the carrot cake.0 -

Aww sorry DD
How would a kidney bean version work for her frankie?I'm just trying to think, I haven't made it for a month now, but it didn't taste baked beany, more it was spicy. Shall I sheck the spices and see if they need upping?
But v glad the carrot cake went down well
I meant to ask yesterday what your usual strategy is when the family don't like certain things?
Also I meant to ask what you chose instead of the BNS?

weezl Eldest DD like the Bean Pate. She thought the spices were right and that once you got past the first bite of eating cold beans it tasted good. She would eat it again.
She thought my bread wasn't quite up to scratch but I think we've all come to realise it's going to be a work in progress.
She thinks the carrot cake is lovely too.
Youngest DD thought the spices were fine too and isn't sure whether a kidney bean version would be any better.
She would eat it again if she had to. (which she does)
In regards to what happens if my children don't like something...if it doesn't make them retch, they eat it, knowing that there are always going to be some meals they prefer to others. (hope that's not too shocking for anyone)
I'm struggling to figure out what BNS stands for?0
