I'm torn about the other batch days...
spoon feeding shirl for each of them might be a bit like 'give a man a fish and feed him for a day' whereas to be effective she's obviously got to figure it out for herself a bit more... Plus is a lot of work for you!!!! Will mull a little more on that in my bath
Please can I have some anti-colic vibes for a very troubled Kester, and some soothing teeth vibes for fergie, and a soothing vibe for mummy weezl's who are concerned about fergie's childminder(it's been a tough day here folks
)
Oh weezl. Loads of good vibes for you and your littlies.:) I hope you and they manage to get plenty of sleep tonight.
I agree with keeping the web pages as uncluttered as possible and it is a must to have a text only option for printing. Can I help at all with the batch cooking days. I am sorry I haven't followed all the posts so may have missed something. Maybe I could help allegra?
The additions of oven temp and 'special' equipment sits well on the pages and is quite clear but I do wonder if it might be clearer immediately above the method or ingredients list.
Tomorrow I could be sitting at my laptop a lot so just shout! That is if you want help sorting out batch cooking days.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

thanks PB, I'm sure allegra will be very grateful
With your professional background, any thoughts you have on making any of the recipe methods easier to follow would be appreciated.
The bit I've put in bold above, did you mean move it further over to the right, or did you mean bring it under the heading 'Ingredients'?

Hi all Weezl big hugs sent your way
:kisses3: Hope tomorrow is a better day. Love the why? insertion on the web page and agree that short is better as i know if i look at a recipe and its got loads of ingreds and a page and a half of instructions i wont bother even if it looks like the finest thing ever.
Happy to experiment in the kitchen if you need a tester over the next few days as i have no work :j and very little planned apart from walking dog oh what an exciting life i lead!!!!! so give me a shout if you want.0 -

Roast Chicken Recipe
Gravy method says Mix 20g flour with a litttle cold water to make a paste and add this to the gravy. Should the flour be listed under gravy ingredients as it not shown.
No mention of what to do with onions when the gravy is cooked, i.e leave in gravy or take out. If taken out could they be used for anthing else?

oh darnit weezl, for the first time ever you've made me wish I was at work!
I've also done a course on how to make webpages more "accessible" (not just for people with disabilities, but all manner of people including those who aren't very web savvy, have reading difficulties, etc.). it was a very interesting course and I wish my baby brain could remember more - I had the review materials in my desk...
I do remember that the best way to write is quite short paragraphs - so small bursts of text, plus having bolded summary paragraphs (like 2-3 sentences MAX) at the very top for people who don't want tiny details. The example in the course was the BBC website - if you look at how their articles are formatted, there is rarely more than a few lines per paragraph, plus the page is quite narrow and always broken up by photos or something. And like you said, keep pages short (I think max 2-3 mouse scrolls) is also important. Basically, the gist is to invite people to read rather than put them off, but you also have to have ENOUGH substance that the people who DO want more info can access it easily too.

quite a nifty bit of code whch offers some rather sexy possibilities
how LOVELY! What a lot of possibilities that opens up0 -
Weezl sorry you are going to hate me:o:o:o
In the liver pate, oil is listed in ingred but no mention of where to put it (pardon the expression) in the method. Also think you should put chopped onion in ingreds rather than in method
In the onion tart there is no mention of how the onions should be ie; finely chopped, into rings or what
Risi in the method it says stir in the stock but there is no mention of it in the ingreds also, no mention of when to add garlic and should say in method cook for 30mins not cooked
A question about the cottage pie why do you say 1kg of pots in ingreds but then in method say top with 250g per person surely if we are giving the recipe for 4 then the method should be for same?
Being a bit padantic but in Pizza think you should put 12x9 not 12 9 inchand the Tomato Sauce needs to be separated by a line or put in bold as its not clear
Picky again but in the Pasta Alfredo you have cooked pasta in ingreds then in method you tell us to put pasta on to boil maybe a bit confusing but i understand you were trying to fulfil someone elses comment.
Tomato Pasta you havent mentioned chopping the toms in the method or ingreds and have a vision of how that dish will look with whole plum toms:rotfl:
Pea Soup think you shouldnt have the bit about adding liquid in small bits as a new paragraph as Shirl might throw all the liquid in before she reads that bit.
Carbonara in method you say to add melted cheese but its not stated anywhere else should just say add cheese.
Ok i am going to stop there as i can hear the lynching squad running up from Wales following a mad (in both senses of the word) welsh woman who is carrying a sharp implement with my name on it and i need a head start. I will sneak in tomorrow and see if anyone is still talking to me xxxxxx

that would be a fabulous task if you were able to lesley, yes please
I'm hoping to combine it with the way that the recipes page currently can be sorted according to ease, cost and diet, so that you can rank the recipes by calories and fat
I think I prob have the latest ingredients list on the last sheet you whizzed over don't I. If there are any changes, I'll need the latest version pretty please
My Dad used to glug the gripe water sometimes when things got desperate. It used to have alcohol in it I think, I very much doubt if it does now!
Hope you have a better day tomorrow.
I used to love constructing programs in my techie days. All this tech talk is making me want to explore the world of creating websites, and maybe even make a few bob from them (that's bob with a lower case 'b' not a Bob). I have never done one. My techie days were spent creating solutions to business problems that were run either batch overnight or on pseudo conversational screen programs (that little sentence should shake out the long distance techs amongst us!)
night all, off to bed to read me book, see you all tom0
