, I'm a bit worried I've got the amount of water a bit wrong, cos of the way I was jotting it down as I went along, could you add it in little bits and just check that isn't waaaaaaay too much!

I have been having a think about my familys dislike of porridge again and the fact that DS2 does not eat cake of any description and would like to know if I could try the savoury biscuits with instant oat cereal in them?
Where is the recipe? I know they are not on this plan but would like to give them a try. We are not a very sweet family but with everyone else the carrot cake has gone down fantasticallly. I am making carrot with apricot today. Yum!
Also wanted to ask anyones opinion of trying the twinks with oil instead of butter. Has anyone else tried?business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

oh wow arty. When I read your post I had visions of you sitting in the park with your Amelia Pond hair and your Mary Poppins bag, with your batteries, paint brush and cooking apple - what a mad bag! Just realised how that reads, must make clear that I mean that the handbag is the mad bag!
what a day, makes you appreciate the good ones then doesn't it
the pumpkin pie looks interesting, but not quite sure where it would fit in. Is it a pud?
I made some bread using a larger tin than the 2lb'er and really like the bigger loaf, DP likes the larger slices too. Have been having a lot of success with loaves now and have been confident enough to send off for some large tins from eBay. When I am confident enough that it will work every time, (don't want to waste what would be a vast amout of flour) I will batch cook them as I am just doing one at a time at the moment which of course uses a lot of fuel. Four large loaves is going to use up a lot of freezer space tho!
I am going to try one using the cheap SP flour and see what that is like. I use SP flour for rolls, pizzas and focaccia's and it works fine0 -

kitty gets 6 puddings in the month2 of pumpkin pie and 4 of coconut rice pudding... they aren't huge, but they are there, and will hopefully help with it all feeling more normal:)
I'll be interested to know how the sp bread turns out. Our no-knead loaves were very crubly with it, but potato water helps as it bumps up the starchiness
HTH xx

I have made a double quantity carrot cake today using apricots instead of raisins, 100g ready brek in place of sr flour and water instead of orange juice. It is in the oven now, I will let you know how it turns out. I guess it is still quite important when testing the month 1 plan to deal with real life affecting Shirl eg someone eating the oranges!!
I would love pumpkin pie but as no one else eats it I would have to eat it all myself!!
Lunchtime pate has been cooked and some eaten by DH for lunch. He enjoyed it. I wasn't so sure as I know it was pigs liver and not some other delicacy but the true test will be with DS2 and DS3 tonight.
ETA arty I just read what happened to you yesterday. I hope you have recovered from your ordeal.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

yes, i am a yank. No offense taken at all
. U can buy tinned pumpkin in waitrose - it lives by the other tinned fruit. Not every branch seems to carry it, but i've never had huge difficulty in obtaining any. I confess i've never used real pumpkin before!!

Errm Weezl sorry wont be doing the planner tonight as ex wont touch bean curry even for a million pounds (not that you were offering i know) not even the thought of a crazy Welsh woman screaming at him will make him change his mind so we are having salmon fillets tonight. But will be back on track tomorrow as everything else he seems to enjoy. As i am working on Sun we wont be doing the risotto but will have the chicken when i get home from work but everything has been much easier than anticipated and could easily be carried on after this has finished. There would be a few minor changes but, when you look at how much you are saving then it seems silly to go back to the way things were.0
