No, just someone who's got her priorities sorted out. You can't hold onto all the reins all of the time - you'd crack. So if things sometimes go pear-shaped, or bags double up for sheds - who cares ? It's just a safety valve to make sure that things hold together where it matters.

DH's verdict:

MMMMMN that's really nice! (sounding more animated than i've heard for a while )

like the mouthfeel and texture

excellent fillling to pastry ratio

Lovely sweet spicyness. It's very rich so you wouldn't eat loads

Pasta Alfredo tonight using quater of recipe.

Made sauce with cornflour instead of flour and lard, looked a bit anaemic but tasted ok.

Nice portion size, will def make again.:j

Pumpkin pie looks good, Weezl. I never made - or indeed had - pumpkin pie. Probably cos I find pumpkin too watery for anything but soup - I'll have to have a go at the BNS version though. It looks nom !

Lesley, I eat weeds all the time Dandelion, chickweed, wild rocket.... And I am keen to branch out even further as soon as I am able to properly identify things as edible !

I had carbonara tonight, as I felt Alfredo is something that !!!!!! might rather enjoy, so want to save it until he's back. Of course, tonight when only cooking carbonara for myself it turned out perfectly - he'd have enjoyed it rather more than the cack-handed version I produced last time !

I used an oval Pyrex pie dish that holds about 13 fluid ounces for the pasta. Have several odd sized dishes that I have acquired over the years.
