Oh poor jellybaby
! Kidney infections are horrid. I hope you start to feel better soon.
Welcome to uolypool and any other new and returning posters - I haven't got around to posting for a few days, can't seem to get back into the habit! I'll keep trying though! And Happy Birthday uolypool!:bdaycake:
mioliere - Sounds as if you will be living in upheaval again for a while, but it wil be worth it in the end. What a good thing your DH can do so much of the work himelf
tired mum - I was so pleased to "see" you as I realised you hadn't posted since I got back from NZ. I hope DS won't have long to wait for his assessment, and I'm glad DD1 has been diagnosed - she must be so pleased to be able to see the words properly. How old is she? I can't remember whether she's at secondary school yet or not
halight - So nice to see you posting again! Glad the twins are doing well :j
Bitsy beans - Hope your Nan can manage to start eating again. x
Diva -I've pm'd you x
Penny_pincher, in case you're reading - Thinking of you x
candygirl - Loved the pic of Boo on her birthday, she's so cute :A
NPM - Good luck with that chicken  I bet Noah loves it, too:(
JackieO - I'm sure I've read "Beyond Black". Is it the one about a psychic named Alison? I hope you'll all enjoy the Science Museum.
RosyRed and sistercas - I remember when my DD1 was about 12 I came across a jumper at the back of the high shelf in my wardrobe which I'd intended to give her as one of her presents 2 Christmases previously
((((HUGS)))) to everyone who needs some.
There seem to be quite a few people with puppies atmHard work but lots of fun, I bet.
Had a nice day y'day, church in the morning and it was ages since I'd been on Easter Sunday - I always go to the Vigil service the evening before, but this year I felt well enough to do bothAfter a sandwich lunch and a quiet afternoon I got the chicken and veg in the oven, then we went to see DD2 and family - she's so busy at the moment that trying to get together is like trying to make an appointment to see Sir Alan Sugar or something
We had chicken rather than lamb because the dentist has told me to avoid chewy foods for 6 weeks  to see if it helps the pain in my jaw, and I thought chicken would be less chewy than lamb (and also I had a chicken in the freezer
). So tonight's dinner will be chicken curry!
Today we've been to B & Q for some light bulbs, and also got a few bits from the M & S Simply Food just along from there(They had a brand of pasta i'd not seen before, and one of them looks really nice - a bit like little trumpets, but smaller than the trumpet-shaped one Lidl sells. So I thought we'd give it a try.) WM is on atm with the second load.
When I asked DH to empty the TD the other evening, he found that the "Condenser clogged" light was lit up. So he ran the condenser under the tap first, then gave it a scrub under running water, using the radiator brush. When DS came home he remarked that the kitchen looked as if there'd been an explosion in a paper-mache factory. Couldn't have put it better myself, as there were little specks of grey fluff on everything near the sink. Haven't got rid of it all yet!
I'm really pleased because last week I altered two IKEA duvet covers which were too wide for our duvets - it was a long time since I'd felt up to hefting that amount of fabric around on the table (we're talking several years) :j We'd been using the covers for at least 2 years and just put up with them not fitting the duvets properly! They are much more comfortable now.:) But I think we will have to take the sewing machine for servicing this week, as it's getting a bit clattery. I hope it only needs re-lubricating, and not a new bearing or anything  It's over 10 years old but I haven't been able to use it much for health reasons.
Hope everyone has a nice evening0 -
Happy easter Monday folks, been w*rking most of the day but relaxing now with a nice coffee and a twinks hob nob, but they have turned out more like a twinks hob log!! Think the mixture was too dry, but they still taste yummmm.
Good luck tomorrow Diva will be thinking of you and look forward to seeing you back on here. How long will you be in Hosp?
Monthly grocery budget is shot already and I've been trying to be good, will have to plan meals better, however being down at my GF makes it difficult as what she feels like having for tea in the morning may not be what she fancies at night!! Still two weeks til payday too AND my daughter is off uni so come up for meals for next two weeks
Anyway off to finish cofee and hob log
Take care all.0 -

Uolypool - Welcome and happy birthday for yesterday :j
Diva - positive vibes for op tomorrow. Hope it goes well for you xx
Feel like I've achieved very little today. Went shopping for some more fruit and ended up spending another £44. OK £11 of that was another piece of half price beef but still. Is it me or is shopping bills creeping up again
Anyway I fancy a beer so  everyoneI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
I'm glad you think groceries are going up Bitsy, I'm a singly (most of the time) and I cant believe my weekly shopping bills!! I dont buy pre-packed meals or shop bought sannies etc, but I'm still coming in at about £40 a week. Even keeping a shopping diary it still amazes me how much cash I'm parting with. next pay day going to do month of only buying reduced produce and freeze it. Finding it good fun keeping tabs on things tho thanks to this thread.0

Evening all
I hope you've all had a fantastic Easter weekend
I've been to Buckinghamshire for the weekend with 2 girls who I met at summer camp. We stayed in High Wycombe, met Sat pm and had lunch and spot of shopping in the Eden Centre. Then to the posh hotel (De Vere one, £19 room offer) to have girly night watching DVDs, drinking wine and using facemasks. On Sunday we went to West Wycombe to go to the Hellfire Caves and then wandered round the pretty village. We then met up with another friend for Sunday lunch and back to the hotel for drinks. Today we headed to London and had brunch before getting our trains/coaches home. I had such a fab time
It was lovely to chill out and do nothing.
I'm back home now. WM is on, I have a mountain of post to open (it goes to my parents and they dropped 2wks worth off for me!) and my brain is dead :rotfl: I'm off tomorrow too so can tidy, go shopping and sort stuff out then too.
Have a good evening all

Night all, thats me off to hit the sack, another 0250 rise tomorrow.
Thanks to all the OSers for your company today, hope you all sleep well and have a nice day tomorow.0 -
Csarina, I thought I had posted earlier as well, but obviously not!! I also found some posts I randomly hadn't thanked, so picked up on those as well. Bizarre.
Uolypool - welcome to the thread. Its a lovely friendly place. I am guilty of not always posting (sometimes because I feel I don't have much OS to say, and others too busy with work) but people are always very welcoming when I do post!
Jelly - hope you feel better.
Diva - wishing you lots of luck tomorrow with your op. Hope you won't be ages recovering from it? At least you've got your internet back!!
Jackie - Coco sounds so adorable!
Had a nice day today. Made cakes this morning for the village fete, as the scouts had a cake stall. Went there this afternoon and spent some pennies, all in a good cause. Now enjoying a glass or two of wine!
DD has gone for a sleepover, I always feel a bit guilty as I never repay the favour - I am a really light sleeper and the slightest noise wakes me up. I've said in the summer they can get the tent out, then have whoever they want over!
DS wants a cuddle on the sofa (he is 12 bless him!) so will go and indulge him!0 -
Hi again,
Rosyred, the bread came out pretty well. I made 6 rolls and a small cob loaf. We ate the rolls for luch (DS was here) and they went down well. I think the loaf is a bit dense. Hopefully practice will make perfect.
DS & GF have been making their own pasta recently, but didn't have a machine and were spending hours rolling it out. Instead of anything chocalate I bought them a pasta machine for Easter. He can't wait to use it and will be trying it out tomorrow he says.0 -
MSD good vibes coming your way for the morning0
