The girl I work with likes to put one thing per post-it note and then stick them around her monitor. She has immense delight in finishing a job and whipping post it off the screen and into the bin...

Say again? That sounds like .... debt free? Whoo hoo if so, even if as a couple you still have negative wealth!
And .... I can't get the reference to the American Youngster, sorry ... do you mean Tim there too?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Ooh, I'm intrigued now - I assumed the bank had got your name wrong and it was OH and some other random/imagined person named on it! :rotfl:0

Unfortunately, people, Cheery is right - the bank got my name wrong. However, originally all this was on OH's credid cards anyway - but it is shared responsibility. This what coupledon is about (particuaarly given that this was not through a fault of his; just irresposibility of different kind on both side). All in the past and now we are building the future. It will all be gone by Christmas anyway. With the help of the Universe and our wise and productive effort.

Mainly one of those ' let us try thins one, no obligation thing and forget to say that we don't want to buy is'. When our coffee machine broke we were desparate so I ordered one form Amazon and signed on to 'test' their £49 per year next day delievery guaranteed. Yep, have been receiving everything on the next day since and this month there is £49 on my credit card. Please don't tell anyone. Lesson learned: find a system that allows me to follow things like that; loads of money is made from people forgetting to check and/or cancel their automated expenditure.0

Feeling very tired tonight and with a very good reason. Thinking about it two very good reasons. To begin with OH came to bed at 6 am – the story I am hearing this evening is that he tried to do something last night and ‘blew his server up’; whatever this may mean. Then he spend the whole night getting it back up – oh dear; I did tell him that he probably can make an absolute fortune breaking computer systems. I am sure that such job exists – people testing new software and hardware. He pushes all technology to the limit. But he woke me up at 6 am and then it was time to get up...
The second reason is that today I did three hours teaching on an executive course – people from funding agencies from around the world. I always find teaching very physically tiring although I absolutely love it. Good practice for my future stand up comedy routine anyway. I was saying how we always make judgements even when we are desperately trying not to; our decisions and actions are never based on fact but on fact and judgement. People in the audience had a bit of a problem understanding that so I gave them an example: ‘I am 48’ – I said. And told them that I bet none of them though ‘she is 48’ but ‘she is so old’, ‘she looks good for 48’, ‘if she...’. At the end of the session one of the man in the room said:
‘I have a question; it is a personal one actually.’
‘OK shoot’ – I said.
‘How do you manage to look so good at 48?’ – he said.
‘Genetics, long distance running and generally immature attitude.’ – I answered.
Now, I know that he was joking but it did feel good. Really good!
Off for a run now; then writing and packing. Tomorrow I am off to Paris – so on Friday morning I’ll be running in the Luxemburg Gardens; and all French runners are tiny and very fast, even the ancient ones.

Hurray to immature attitudes and looking good! I had the same sort of thing from my new neighbour yesterday, she told me she was 52 in the manner of "I'm old and tired" and I said, "well, I'm 56"
I do quite like shocking people
Have a fantastic time in Paris! How wonderful!2023: the year I get to buy a car0
