I was just glad of something fresh to watch and quite enjoyed the slightly odd way it was filmed, like the world was a wonderful place and everything grew by magic:p Seriously though it was nice and I planted a load of elderley pea seeds the next day, waste not want not. The chicken house was a tad extravagant wasn't it - ours cost a fiver to build, using begged and borrowed bits and my ex batts were 2 quid each and are fab. Though I do know people who have not been as lucky with ex batts as me! I hope we will see lots more Os programmes coming on soon - I hope - and we can pick the bits we like out of them. Much less painful than watching soaps:(Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -

Got mine from Asda. Now waiting to hear there is a shortage of dried peas.Managed to get the last jar of ginger on Tesco shelf after Delia's receipe came out.
I do grow cut and come again lettuce leaves and they are a great success, will combine the two for our salads.0 -
Meant to add I paid £1.20 for a iceberg lettuce over Easter. Now have ten growing on allotment for the price of £1.99 and another eight growing from seed in mini greenhouse. We are lucky to have a 20 rod allotment for £14 per year but really these are easy to grow in garden among flowers.0

I really enjoyed tonights episode as well, thought there were loads of really useful hints and tips. So glad to finally have a purposeful use for the nettle patch at the end of the garden!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

What on earth is she on about? No tomato is exposed to blight, until it gets it.
And I reckon at a guess those tomatoes she got off Charlie were Legend, blight resistant.
And if blight resistant tomatoes do exist, why did she carry on saying that they don't.
I wasn't convinced about the dandelion flowers either, you can hardly have tasted them in that lot of batter and the son tasting them said they tasted just like a normal pancake.
But I did get to the end of the program and find out I had liked it. Then I watched an episode of "The Victorian Kitchen Garden" and remembered what really good tv programs about growing your own are like.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

When Wales switched to digital a few weeks back they boosted the Freeview signal which we couldnt receive before. Only noticed yesterday channel this week and saw Victorian Kitchen Garden. Lovely programme spoilt only by the ad breaks.0
