jackieglasgow .....DH decided that I have always put the family first and not really worried about me ......I was going to get what I wanted after 24 years of waiting. Plus he got it for half price on Amazon and had done a few private jobs to pay for it, so I wasn't too cross about the money side of it.
I hope coco is a little better bless her x xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Happy birthday Butterfly :bdaycake:hope you enjoy your relaxing day
I've had a very lazy morning this morning - DD and DS were both up at about 8.15 so I came down and gave them breakfast, put the WM on and have then sat in front of the TV for the rest of the morningOnly just been up and showered and got dressed now :T
For the rest of the day I'll mainly be tidying round the house and doing a few more loads in the WM, and probably a little more on the declutter of the bedroom which is coming along nicely.
Enjoy the rest of Good Friday!

csarina I know what you mean about holiday times ,one day does tend to run into another
stroppyjock so the sun is shining in Montrose well that's got to be good .My Dad's family all came from Brechin which is about 8 miles from there and when I was small we used to go up to visit relatives there.Dad would insist that we all went for a bit of a paddle at Montrose and it was always freezing no matter what the weather was like .I am sure its on the same degree north as Moscow:eek:
At least when we visited my Mums family in Glasgow the buildings that were surrounding us kept us a bit warmer.
In those days an ols SMT bus from Victoria coach station would leave at 4.00.p.m. on a Sunday afternoon and we would arrive in Edinburgh the next morning, then we would have to get another bus to Montrose then another one to Brechin and we would arrive at my Aunt Lizzies house at 4.00.p.m. on Monday just in time for 'high tea' which was gorgeous as she was a fantastic cook.
Well I have been having a lazy day and just pottering around.I have got my SC on with a lamb stew cooking for tomorrow with a dollop of almost everything I can think of chucked in to give it flavour. I am going to put my feet up and have a read this afternoon as its bright but a bit chilly here in north Kent
Hope everyone has a good day and eats their hot cross buns dripping with butter and strawberry jam I know I will
Cheers chums

Ooh Jackie I didn't realise you were really Scottish! So where in Glasgow did your mum's family come from? Tell, do!It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Hi Guys,
Im still here and reading every day just not posting so much - JC thanks for your kind comment yesterday x
Im coming to terms with a few things - the most important that I have been accepted for ill health retirement so will no longer ever work as a midwife which is very sad for me. Its not that I dont want to post just feel that I dont have much that is positive regarding OS. Not much today either. I have loads (literally) of washing that is piling up as DD was away with the college on a field trip!!! But no washing today as its Good Friday. I will try and get some cakes baked for Easter as i have some little eggs that will go very nicely on the top.
Hugs xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

Hi Bargain bird - I never wash on New years day and Good Friday. I have looked it up in the Penguin book of superstitions - it is a South West superstition that you will wash away your family, also if you hang it out it will get spotted with blood!
Its just what my mother did and kinda stuck. Its actually really good not feeling guilty about not doing it as usually I do at least 3 loads a day. I must have at least 8 including DD manky stuff. Still no excuses tomorrow xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

Good Morning All
:beer:Happy Birthday Butterfly Brain:beer:sounds like you are having a lovely day.:)
Late post from me as went to work last night with OH, managed to stay awake all night :j. S/E London in the early hours of the morning is as busy as it is round here midday.
Anyway feel a bit like the walking dead at the moment, I am not good even if I miss an hour of sleep! So not too many plans. Do need to get my Dads birthday card made. Have a nice trip out to the craft shop with DD yesterday. I bought quite a lot but then spent yesterday organising my supplies. Also cleared out and organised my card & wrapping drawer so am very happy with that.
Have some ironing to do and need to menu plan what we are having this weekend. Probably won't be out too much (apart from a meal with Dad tomorrow) as do hate the bank holiday traffic. Weather not too good here but not raining at the moment.
Think DD wants to do some baking today - gonna jump in the bath first and see if I can wake myself up fully.
Have a great Good Friday.x
