Certainly not. But i don't belive mbga9pgf's plan was instigated for the greater good. Like many on HPC his only concern was to secure a cheap property for himself at the expense and misery of others.

How on earth is this different to you wanting house prices to rise, to secure more HPI, at the misery of others!?

    Seriously, how!?

The hypsocrisy here is simply mind blowing.
  • Bottom line all the first time buyers from the last few years have been wishing house prices will fall, and they have been hanging in there, youve got you carols, britts, geofkky's and a few more im not saying they are any different to a bull, who for one reason and another wants house prices to go up.

I didnt really know what was going to happen but some people where predicting 50% drops and the majority of them where people who would have benefited from it, because they wanted to get on the property ladder.

Its nearly 3 years now and they have been going on about house price falling even with a national average of house prices going up 10% in the last year.

I do feels sorry for these people who have been priced out of the market and you can tell their post's are becoming fewer and fewer and some have even bought properties, saying that they they did get nearly 40 percent off and there house has been valued yesterday a month after they bought it for 50,000 pound more.:o

The biggest stumbling block for first time buyers are them getting a mortgage with a small deposit and if the rates where good the property market be would be in full swing now.

I know a load of first time buyers who would buy now if they could secure a good rate with a 10% deposit.

The banks are making mega money now from mortgages, there just playing it safe and reaping the rewards of a really low base rate.

new homeowner mine was not wishing..i could of bought five if i wished ..its all about the economic cycle and timing it right .....i will let you know one day...
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

I mean the only reason you got a cracking deal on your house was because you was a cash buyer and cash buyers can demand what price they pay for houses.....lol

Where have I said I want prices to rise? I'm content for prices to stagnate whilst incomes increase and hopefully more houses are built to meet demand.

Most 'bulls' on here are anti falls rather than pro increases.

Let's face it, the only way you can have your wish for lower prices, without lots more houses being built, is for countless households to suffer a degree of hardship in one form or another.
If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.

People seem to confuse themselves between what people want to happen and what they predict will happen. Probably because our resident nutjobs have been "predicting" only what they want to happen for years now, rather than making a proper prediction based on various sources and facts.

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=23129317&highlight=yoy#post23129317 was one of my better ones, I don't make many predictions as most things were impossible to predict over the last year, but then I'm not an idiot.

    You and me both, then.

I play safe too, but I enjoy the posts of those who think they know which way things are going, 'evidence-based' or not.

People stick their heads on the block here, and I admire them for that. :)

Maybe someone else can find it, but I'm sure he put up his budget once. From what I can remember he spent pretty much nothing every month, and I seem to remember him saying that he didn't ever buy anyone a gift, because it's a corporate way of wasting money, or something like that. I suppose we'd all have £100k if we never spent a penny more than we needed to.

    Horses for courses I guess.

I'm still slightly confused why you can't appreciate the situation of seeing someone grieve for their daughter and still buy people you love and like the odd prezzie, but there we go.

He has saved £47k in the past 12 months, and they only earn 38k net (after expenses), I note he only holds cash, some going
