Ticklemouse wrote:I'm going to the lakes for a few days with my mum and the boys on saturday, and there's nothing packed.
Scarily thats where we're off toWell, not exactly the lakes, it's Barrow that we're going to but we might as well be going to the lakes as we pass the turn off at Newby Bridge for the lakes and often pop over to Windemere for the day :rotfl: Won't be going this weekend though - we're going to a joint 50th birthday for IL's on Saturday night so the day time will be spent trying to sneak about doing things
Anyway....So far- [STRIKE]Clean house - only a quick hoover / dust / swipe
[/STRIKE]
- Finish washing dishes (will include breakfast dishes which is why they've been left
)
- Washing x 2 loads
- Ironing (might be done tonight by OH, all depends on how much I get done today)
- Gift wrapping / making - forget to get SIL something for her pressie so it's up to DD to make her something
- Packing list / packing of suitcase / travel bag for car to be sorted out
- Make Tea - macaroni cheese to use up the milk
As part of cleaning I've attacked the piles of paper on the desk  Managed to get it down to 1 pile of statements which need to be reconciled/filed (already up-to-date on Money, it's just a double check
) and local paper & the Asda magazine to have a quick mooch around :j Also need to do my menu planning but that shouldn't take too long as I'm using the Gillian Mckeith cookery book to try and improve our diet and get some of this 5 stones of excess weight off me
DD is sitting making SIL an photoframe out of Hama which means I'll be needing to make the cardboard backing for it later
Need to get on as the washing has just finished and I need to get it out, the next load in and the dishes washed! Later :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 - [STRIKE]Clean house - only a quick hoover / dust / swipe

Woohoo only 1 hour to go, and I can go home!!!
Have just checked the balance on my current account _pale_ Need to tighten the belts dramatically. Which is annoying as I've got 2 weeks leave in a weeks time. Oh well DD and I will just have to do cheap things, like footie in the park, feeding the ducks, picnics, I might stretch to swimming - any more cheap (ideally free) ideas
Have been looking at some recipes on here to do cheaply for food, and found quite a few that I already have the ingredients for
(((((hugs))))) to allSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
nicki wrote:DD has tried to make her packing list up herself :rotfl: Apparently she only needs 1 pair of knickers and socks until Monday
It's easier with boys - they don't need any clean undies/clothes. When we went to stay overnight at chez Nelski last week, DS2 packed his own case. Contents: 4 books, 2 cars and 1 lorry. Oh, and 2 toothbrushes :rotfl: Well, that's all a 4 year old needs, isn't it?0 -
Afternoon all
I don't usually post in the afternoon but I am home now eating a chicken sandwich and having a mooch on here before I do some more work.
Popped into Tesco just now to grab some milk and picked up a few bargains Organic pork chops £1 Organic leg of lamb £4.99 should have been £11:eek: So thats in the oven now cooking slowly for dinner:D and also some organic pork pieces that I will bung in the SC tomorrow and make a caserole:T
Made up with OH this am I apologised first then he did so hopefully we are sorted out:o I am going to take this whole HA thing to the local MP I have had enough of being fobbed off and one rule for one and one for another, all we want is to be treated fairly am I asking too much?
I really need to de-clutter this whole place I am sick of losing things just because I am not organised, the place is clean but everything is shoved into cupboards co I can't see it:eek:
Right I best let these dogs out and do some work
Ciao for now0 -
I've had a very productive lunch break ... Dropped off the solicitor's instruction (managed to find a specialist solicitor within 5 mins of my office, which could reap rewards even though it wasn't actually the cheapest quote) ... Went to the post office with my acceptance letter for the flat, which I've sent 1st class recorded delivery ... Must remember that post office in future, Borough rather than the one at London Bridge, no huge lunchtime queues! ... Right, back to work ... Hugs to all ... You go get 'em AGEANDJO, you sound like you're not to be messed with! ... Rzl

Ooooh do you think I'm a proper girl at last? I had to go into town today for work, on the way back to the bus stop (which I had to pay for because son lost my weekly pass and it's only 3 days old GGGRRRRR) I stopped in Primark and bought some pretty flip-flops and a skirt to cheer myself up  I absolutely detest shopping and mr troo will probably collapse in shock when he sees what I've bought. Well either that or he'll collapse laughing
I'm a jeans and trainers kind of person.
starlorna22 wrote:Troo I know exactly what you mean. We've just put our house up for sale as we're so fed up of all the teenagers round here. They sit on our wall outside, and make loads of noise til 11/12 at night. Kind of a problem when you have to get up before 6 for work
Also, one of them has just bought his first car, so all his mates come round in their cars and it's like some sort of rallyHe revs it until really late too.
In fact, we're so fed up of them that we're looking for a house in the middle of nowhere now where we will be pretty far from out nearest neighbours

Do you think I'll get away with selling the house and not telling the kids? :rotfl:
Moggins, course you can move inBulletproof0 -
Yay - have my new furniture sat in the garage and i am well and truly happy. :T
Don't think DH will be when he has to go out and move stuff around so he can get to his bike and the TD, and more importantly the wine.
Also, i won a bid on a book on ebay, that i have been trying to get cheaply for two weeks. Someone tried to snipe me as well, and i still got it. Yay me.
I can now relax. I have been marking coursework this afternoon. I managed 8 pieces of the 96 i have to do over the hols. It doesn't surprise me to say i haven't seen much inspiring.
TM and Nikki - i am also at the lakes next Mon-Fri, or rather the center parks at Cumbria, although don't ask me more details than that as i have left it up to DH and his parents to sort the arrangements. I cannot wait.
You both had me chuckling with your descriptions of your kids packing.
RZL sounds like you have got things moving quickly in the right direction. Its amazing what can be achieved in a lunch hour isn't it. Way to go girl.
troo sounds like you are in fact a girl. It all starts innocently with flipflops, but it will be handbags, make up and jewellery next. Hope it makes you feel better after dealing with the teens. I sympathise, particularly as i have to deal with large numbers of them, but at least i can say bye at 3pm and for school holidays. My worst nightmare at the moment though is visiting my parents, and my brother will have his mates there and i teach them all. My mum was introduced to one by, hello,i believe you know me as the lad who wore your daughters pink cardigan. Charming kids i teach :rotfl:
SOMO1 i saw a list of ideas for the hols that was in an old issue of good housekeeping. a game where you pretend to be pirates, and have cushions and other objects on the floor that you have to stand on to avoid the shark infested water, complete with kohl pencil fake beard and moustache. Also, decorate biscuits. Give the kids premade or bought biccies, a bowl of icing sugar, different food colourings and decorations, and let them go mad. Also, a treasure trail, where each clue gave the kid a task, such as colour in this picture, tidy up the toy box, watch a cartoon, and led to a reward at the end. Hope some of that sounds useful. it sounded fun to me and i might try it when i have to babysit my two nephews at the end of the hols.
Going to go and potter so it doesn't look like i've been sat on my bottom all day.

Evening Guys
Sorry I havent posted earlier but have had a pretty rotten day today:rolleyes: ...oh well:D
Up Kings this morning and have slept pretty much all the afternoon as feeling so tired. DD's streaming too, so wondering if we have a slight head cold
DD & OH went to Dartford market today and bagged a few bargains. I was bought a lovely posh china cup and saucer for me cup of tea and a lovely fold arty brass ornament.
Used the new electric wheelchair this morning and is excellent and very easy to use, which is what i needed and saves OH pushing me all the time. A good investment me thinks!
Essay all sent of to my tutor. She sent me a lovely email yesterday hoping I was well and not to rush the essay as Ive done quite well so far and doesnt want me handing in rushed sub-standard work...bless:o
Really need to get my DLA forms filled in before we leave on Saturday, so will concentrate on that tonight/tomorrow. Still need to pack, tick off the food I have boxed up and sort bedding for the week away, but OH says he will help me...thank goodness!!
Anyway, I have to go and make sure DD is ok. She bought alot of stationary bits from Smiths today in their 75% off sale...fountain pen for 49p:D
Hugs to all.

I went on strike today! I informed them all I was sick of being the house skivvy.
Do you think DH lifted his fingers to help? Did he hell! He sat on his ar*e and played on the computer and the PS2 all day. I served tea on everyones laps as you couldn't get to the dining room table for all the laundry that needs putting away and then he had the cheek to turn my programme off for some stupid man thing on Bravo!
I wouldn't mind if he had been at work but he's been off all this week and I am dog tired with all I've had to doOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Hi everyone!
I'm here back at work all on me tod because all the students have gone home and I've been thoroughly enjoying the chance to have a mooch around and see what you lovely lot have all been up to.
Not a great deal of OS going on today as have been working for most of it but did get the hoovering done and a couple of loads of washing on. However, didn't spend any money and have just worked out that I've saved £75 in pin money since May which can go towards our trip to Canada. Thanks for all the new moneysaving tips you keep coming up with folks.
Have planned my weekly shop and menu tonight and then must update the accounts with OH. Am having a go at a veggie sweet and sour stirfry this weekend for the first time. shall have to see how it goes.
Enjoy your evening peeps and hopefully I shall sneak back tomorrow during my lunch break!
