Fifty pence? That's ten bob! I used to be given sixpence (2 and a halp pence) and that would buy me a bag fully of 'penny (old penny) chews'.

Now you need to £5 to do the same, in the next 15 years you need to carry £50. But your salary wont increase same as the price that's not good.0

In the next 15 years you won't carry around any money as everything will be all done using your mobile phones or cards0 -
I used to get 50p a Week spends, and I had to work for that, dishes, bedrooms and hoover the floors. I would rush to the shop every friday. get two mojo's for 1p, 2 bags of Golden Wonder crisps for 7p each, a small glass bottle of coke for 18p (plus 10p return on the bottle), a Beano for 12p.
The good ole days. If I tried giving my Son 50p for spends, he would probably say "I think you need it more then me dad".:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

The good old days. Summer started in April/May and didn't end till school started again in September and every day in between was a heat wave day.
No pop in the house. My parents would make a big 4ltr bottle of orange squash for us to drink that day. BBQ every other weekend with half the neighbours coming over.
Don't get that these days with the two or three days sunshine we regularly get.0 -
Does it ever occur to anyone a reason things look smaller now is because we used to be smaller, so things looked bigger?
It may be the case that some things have shrunk, but I haven't noticed creme eggs shrinking. I think curly wurly's have shrunk, but it's hard to tell whether it's just me being bigger0
