    need a moan!!!!!

after worry of whether we would get to go on holiday OHs firm has a/told him he must go to Wales and Ireland next week so missing concert I spent £60 buying tickets for BUT also said the cancelled meeting from this week(which could have gone ahead as plane did fly) will be on the tuesday after bank holiday monday meaning he will have to fly on the BH and arrive back(hopefully) late tuesday/wed a.m when we then fly off to hols at 10 wed am:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:Boss man denied all knowledge of booked holiday and insisted OH goes (OH then got ratty with me cos I was (understandably) worried about holiday actually happenning)

he said he could always meet me there!!!!NO WAY if only cos of extra costa involved, firms think they own you body and soul these days.:(:(:(:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:.( of course he will by then be even more tired and in need of a holiday and not in a good mood at all,is it worth it?
.......anyone know a good eye cream to get rid of red puffy eyes???!!!!!

rosemary, this ALWAYS happens to us, the difference is DH's firm pays for the costs accrued when they cancel leave. Mostly I've learnt to be flexible but there was a once in a lifetime thing we missed once I still feel a bit sore about. If I worked and had booked holiday leave it would be a different thing though. In fact, I can see it destroying a lot of relationships, because the time together is so vital.

thanks for the support ladies:AI know I am not the only one to suffer with OHs firms these days,it does cause a lot of stress even though I do try and not complain too much(e.g "ok it's only my birthday you are missing and I have had so many!!!!!!" and "well we never do anything on bank holiday anyway!")

he says he is the one to get the stress with being in 5 countries in 1 week but I get the backlash when he is shattered after wards and not in any state to enjoy the (much needed) holiday!!!!!

I really do know EXACTLY what you are feeling. :o:D. I also find mine gets very stressed about stressing me with cancelled arrangements...perhaps treat yours to a bubbly bath with a glass of wine and his favorite supper? The other thing is, since credit crunch, there have been fewer sweeteners, and in UK far fewer anyway...:( I'm still in touch with loads of the other ''wives'' from Italy...here I couldn't even name one.

Used up an Elemis Herbal Lavender Repair Mask (wnba - no need for it, got as part of a set) & Gatineau Vitamina Hand Cream. I bought a set of 3 of these hand creams, so still have 2 in stock. It is a very good anti-ageing hand cream. Normally £15 each (for 100ml) but often on offer 3 for £30, and recently was 2 for £15. (thebeautyroom.co.uk)

Iceland goes bankrupt, then it manages to set itself on fire. This has insurance scam written all over it.

    Fantastic! :rotfl:

Well, I've just had to throw out a few things as they'd gone off/smelled funny/changed consistency.

One unused Neals Yard body butter (just smelled so wrong)
Lush Aqua Marina cleanser (oh dear lord, the smell when this goes off) - scraped out the contents and kept the tub for returning
Anatomicals facial wash - dried out all our faces. We were the flaky family.

Think there might have been a couple of mini body lotions that had started to smell wrong as well.

So this is what happens when you hoard girls, so don't keep that stuff for best - use it or lose it!

Oh, and I've acquired three S&G body butters - or I will have. Just won a comp this morning and prize was the Butter Suite. :o

Wow, it's amazing how much you all get put out by work. How horrid. It makes me glad that DH is happy to not have any ambition! With my job I have to work weekends and bank holidays but that's part of it. I don't chop and change though. They could ring me and say "we need you here" but if it didn't suit me, it wouldn't happen! We know about our shifts reasonably in advance and then they are set, they can't chop and change us around.

Got very excited this morning when I went into the bathroom and realised I may have some use ups to report today!

On the eye front, not as swollen, not as sore and some fabulous bruising along the bottom of the lashes! I ought to put my face on before I go to school or they'll think I've been beaten up!

Kaz I'm glad your eye is getting better! I think I must be having sympathy pains, where i put this eye gel on I seemed to have a reaction, woke up to a sore and purple area around my eye - mild black eye! :rotfl: i'm taking that as a sign to ease new items in gently and not rush in and hope for miracles!

I'm so jealous of those of you who have won lipglosses/lipsticks from Flake! I still haven't won one and I've eaten lots of Flakes! :(

Congratulations on your BodyShop items too, judgejaq :)
