No Buying Toiletries in April Challenge!

Hmmm, we'll let you off this time Tara, since it was such a bargainous shop and presents included. We're watching though..... :rotfl:
In the last two days, I've used up two mini Molton Brown bath & shower gels that I've had for longer than I care to remember:
Yuan Zhi WIBA? It's okay but it did actually smell like generic hotel toiletries. Noting special
Heavenly Gingerlily WIBA? I liked the smell of this one, a lovely warm floral, left a light fragrance after bathing, nothing overpowering. I wouldn't object if someone bought this for me, but I'm not sure I'd actually buy it - I think Molton Brown are rather overpriced to be honest.
I had to throw away three mini MB hand lotions, as I think they'd gone off slightly and smelled a bit odd.
Anyway, time to go and slather on the goose grease - sorry body cream oil (what sort of name is that for goodness sake) from my trial. Only another two weeks to go with this one and hopefully I'll have used it all up as well!
Goose grease lol!!!!!! :rotfl:
I agree that MB is very overpriced and some of their products smell awful. Some are lovely e.g. the rosewax cleanser, but sooo dear!!! :eek:Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

That lippy set is gorgeous Tara, will make a lovely, expensive looking prezzie! Might have a look in the Superdrug here to see if they have some!
I agree about the Molton Brown stuff too, far too overpriced for me.
Have just finished off a 30ml no7 beauty serum. Not sure I would buy again as I don't think it made much of a difference. I've got 2 Time Delay night serums to get through now and I think I read somewhere that they had the same ingredients and it smells really nice!I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul, I want you to notice when I'm not around0 -
I agree, the lippy set looks really nice tara, well done :T
Haven't used anything up but did cut my S&G body butter tube open to find enough left to nearly fill a 50ml pot I'd saved from my mini S&G flake away. I'm glad I've done it because I would have been gutted to throw that much away.
I've found a couple of non scented hand creams from M&S that I'll use of a night time. They aren't that nice but not bad enough to bin.... aarrggh I hate that!!Even if you stumble, you're still moving forward.0 -
I also agree about the molten brown stuff, its nice enough, looks good on the bathroom, nothing special in use.
I started the challenge in jan, and been very good, used up lots of stuff. none of which appear to make much difference to my skin/feet/whatever. So apart from enjoying the routine and the smell, there doesn't seem to be much point rebuying it.
Buying wise, well 2 new toothbrushes, i did get some bubble bath for my birthday (thats one thing i don't have stacks of) and some bargain Angel perfume/angel body wash.
And one trip to boots where i bought hair dye and nail polish remover. and some hair bands. So all needed.
be nice to buy some new shampoo, i have been using 2 MASSIVE tressame ones 900ml for what feels like years. bored of it now!!!!!!!0 -
I've finally finished the S & G Clean girls cleanser.:j WIBA? - No i prefer a foaming one for some reason it makes me feel cleaner.0

Yes, the TD stuff is absolutely gorgeous and does feel very similar to P&P.
I meant to say yesterday - I got a Molton Brown set of 6x 100ml shower gels, very cute and nicely boxed and all, but I knew for a fact that it cost £35!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't bring myself to use it (esp as their shower gels aren't actually that nice) and regifted it to someone else. The worst product imho is the Naran Ji range - try it sometime if you get the chance, it is MINGING (smell and consistency) and dries my hands out something shocking. I haven't bought it, but tried some when I had the Red £10 vouchers last year. Urgh.I agree, the lippy set looks really nice tara, well done :T

I know, can't believe I never cut tubes open before MSE!!! :eek:burnoutbabe wrote: »I also agree about the molten brown stuff, its nice enough, looks good on the bathroom, nothing special in use.

Afternoon,
Tara, that stash wasn't too bad. Some lovely bits there.
hand cream and gloves last night, quite a 1950s look! not finding this is helping my hands though. maybe not enough product?
so beauty treats for today:
:Da hot bath and a hair treatment (can anyone remember that hair test from the last thread, my hair broke when I did it, so does it need moisture or protein?)
:Dan eyebrow tidy
:Da face mask
:oanother go at sorting make-up bag(s)Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Hi everyone, thanks to all who have made me feel welcome on the thread and advised me to get using all my "saved for best" stuff. Last night I opened a ROC night cream and this morning I opened a Skin Doctors skin plumper thing (sort of day cream) - both had been lurking in my wardrobe for ages. So not a bad start - I should start looking beautiful soon yes?
)
Made a start on sorting through my stash last night - got up to about 50 travel size bottles of various products before giving up for the evening. Took the opened ones out of the pile (about 6 or so) and made a pact to finish them off first before opening anything new of the same type.
Last night was bubble bath, body lotion, paraffin foot treatment, foot balm, hand scrub, hand cream, nail varnish pampering evening, so I think I'm getting into the spirit of the thread quite well - what do you all reckon?
Realistically all I will need to buy this month is mouthwash, and I will try to get that on a BOGOF, so I'm setting myself a £4 limit for toiletries spending this month.
Bye for now,
Candice xx0 -
I used up the last of my hairspray last night so bought a new one today with the shopping at Mr S costing the princely summ of 65p!
Need all the help I can get today from cosmetics - am feeling very yukky after big night out - never again! (until next time!)0 -
Finished my Maybelline turbo boost mascara, will miss it. I've used loads of 'good' mascaras, never found one to beat this cheap one - best waterproof ever. I've got a bag of mascaras to use up. Picked out a No 7 Intense Volume to start on next, since someone on this thread (sorry, can't remember who!) recommended it. Only a GWP size, but I've got loads of samples of it to plough through anyway :rotfl:0
