No Buying Toiletries in April Challenge!
Comments
-
This fab challenge was set up in January 2010 by katie clampett
Here's her original challenge post:
"No buying any new toiletries, cosmetics, pefume etc... until I have used up ALL the ones I already have. I got a huge amount of (really nice) stuff for christmas but I am going to resist the urge to browse Boots, Asda, Superdrug etc, and pop another tub of cream, face scrub, shampoo or conditioner into my basket. I reckon the stuff I have will last me until possibly June. I have decided that the money I save I will put into my special holiday account.
Anyone else?"
Lots of us have taken part in the challenge over the past few months and are making great progress reducing our stashes and unnecessary/excessive spending.
Come and join us for the month of April. The more the merrier!!
Hi all, Just popped in to see how the challenge is going, and am amazed how many people are still in/joining in.I have done really well, and apart from a sticky moment on a "Body shop Grabbit/glitch) have managed to resist buying new stuff!!! (I did meet one or two other challengers on there, YOU know who you are Tara:rotfl:)
I still dont need anything new, but I am interested to read what other people wba or not. I am still saving my cash 4 my next holiday and have £47.90 in a pot, I hope to make £100 by summer. Then I will probably have to actually spend some money & buy some new stuff. I will definitetly be a bit more discerning in the future.
Happy Easter to everyone & and hope you all have a great weekend

Afternoon everyone
I still haven't used anything but did get rid of an empty face wash and an empty conditioner from the bathroom earlierI think I'm so used to having random bottles with dregs in I just kept cleaning up and putting them back eeek!!
Also I found another scent free M&S hand cream  Oh well never mind lol. I'm planning on clearing the garden up in the next few weeks so I'll be thankfull I didn't bin it by then :T
Off to make a pizza and do some hoovering, joy...NOT!! Maybe I'll reward myself with a soak in the bath.
PS. I'm quite pleased to hear the Molton Brown stuff isn't all that. I've always wanted to try it but can never justify the price.
Happy easter everyone, have a nice weekend what ever you get up to :jEven if you stumble, you're still moving forward.0 -

I feel totally relieved not to be the only Molton Brown disliker. I thought it wasn't allowed people rave so much over it...;)
Pinkand whites, I finished RoC day/night creams as a first step in ths challenge, and sticking with them was BRILLIANT for my skin. It was the first time I've really finished moisterisers using the same ones all the time without a break to use something else or0 -

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not a recommendation then! :rotfl:
Well done on your restraint in Boots! I have totally given up Bootsing/voupons/skinnies etc, but cannot resist the clearance shelf lol.
I have finally binned an Asda Extra Special hand cream, it was down to the dregs and ancient and I really can't face cutting open the tube as it is probably gone off by this stage (last time I used it was months ago). So into the bin it goes!! It cost about £1.50 so I will put that into the toiletry savings pot. WIBA: probably not - it was fairly greasy.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs
